On The Road Again with Perfect Aim....

Got worse...........

Wasn't going to Denver and had decided to not go.

Then i got 13 hours of sleep. It was like my body had said, that's enough. I'm going to help you feel better.

The neck is still very sore but not to the point where I can't hardly do anything. In fact my whole body is feeling a little stronger.

I not only need to see the neurologist when i get back but now I need to see a shrink.

I must had rocks in my head to take off to Denver in the shape I'm in to try and play in this tourny.

Oh well. Here we go...

I took off to Minneapolis. I didn't check the weather and it started to snow about half way there. It got pretty bad by the time I got to the Cities.

I was just going to go down Interstate 35 to 90 and then go west but my GPS told me to take Hwy 13 to 160 hwy so that is how I went.

Because it's getting warmer the salt trucks are not out in full force now like in the middle of the winter. They know it will just melt the next day.

At about 3:00AM in the morning i clipped the left shoulder of HWY 60 and got sent into a spin sending my into the median strip. After spinning 2 or 3 times I kept my head, results from my dirt track racing days, and hit the gas once in the median and tried to keep some speed to get out but I ran into a soggy watery spot.

Very luck that i spun out in a spot where there is nothing to hit.

I called a tow truck thru 911 and the guy showed up about 1 hout later only to tell me to just get in his truck. He said i was in the worst spot to be. Semis that come over the hill end up in the same spot when the black ice is on the road and it was black so I got in.

He told me I could ride with him to tow out the next customer or he could drop me off at the Super America and I can wait there. My neck is really getting sore and his truck is very rough to ride in so I opted for Super America.

He calls me back and says that he won't be able to get me out until the ice thaws when it's warm. At that time he will call the State Patrol and have them up at the top of the hill to slow down traffic. And replied fine.

After sitting there for about an hour I called him back and told him, Why don't you just pull me out from the other side of the road. that's up hill and would be much safer. He said no. He wouldn't do it.

Finally at 6:30 AM I called another tow truck. he came and pulled me out and there was no trouble. Cost $150 and the other guy was going to charge me $200.

But the problem here is now I havn't put on enough miles. i'm tired as all get out and I've only done 4 hours of a 16 hout trip to Denver.

I had to stop at a garage and get my wheels aligned. When the guy pulled me out he really wrecked the alignment. After the alignment the steering wheel shakes still.

Might put some new tires on it tomorrow.

So after the garage and dead tired I got a room at 2:00 PM just before Sioux Falls and just woke up now at 1:00AM. I was really tired and still feel wiped out.

Need to pack up and get to Denver.

Oh Yah, when I was cleaning off the mud the temp plate on the back of this little Aveo is half gone. You can no longer read the numbers. Just the tops.

I'm sure I will get stopped. I looked in the dash and realized I left my insurance info and paperwork for the car on the kitchen table.

This is going to cause me trouble for sure. I need to call Steve that I bought the car from and have him send me another temp plate to Felts in Denver.

Never a dull moment on the road. This whole event was a total nightmare.

Now I need to drive the last 11 hours, get a room and see if i can get rested play half ways respectable.

The Nick Varner Classic here in Denver is a great event.

But no matter what I will be doing some lessons there after the tourny.

I almost turned back but I guess I'm just as nuts as the rest of us pool players.

See ya all there.

One man a little car, still alive and the road.............

Had the brakes done once i got to denver. Then I went to get into my room and they didn't have one for me after stalling for about 4 hours on telling me so. Told me to come back.

Stayed at a pretty rough Motel with the promise that the same motel would have a room for me at 11:00 the next day.

The girl at the desk didn't say anything to the manager that was there the next day so he gives me the samer story that they would have a room ready at 2:00.

I kind of went off. He got me one ready in about 30 minutes.

I walked in and the smoke smell was bad and the ceiling was brown.

Waited another hour and got into a clean non smoking room.

UI should have just gotten another room somewhere else but this is fairly close and they have a weekly rate.

As far as the tournament this trip has just about knocked me out of the mix before I hit a ball.

I've had about 14 hours sleep in 3 days, my whole body is wrecked. i'm going to see if they will just leave me out of the calcutta because it would not be fair to whomever would buy me. I certainly will not waste any money in that.

Other than that i will be here until thursday teaching at Felt.

great poolhall and great tournaments.

Just glad to be here to support the great event.

Just give me a call . 715-563-8712 and I'll get you a time to learn Perfect Aim.

Some good luck tonight at Felt Billiards........

I got a couple of hours sleep once I got into the room. Went to the poolhall at 6:00 and they hadn't even started the calcutta and they were going to do the pros first.

That makes about 160 player to action off so i went back to the room to do some much needed icing.

Won my first match and now I don't have to plaY UNTIL 10:00 am.

More ice and then some sleep. With a good nights sleep you never know what might happen.

But the best part of the trip so far was meeting all my old friends that I met when I was in Denver doing Perfect Aim lessons in 2009.

Denver was my first town I went to after Phoenix that started the 5 year run of teaching.

Kind of a special place to me with allot of special people.

One man a little car and the road............again..........

I'm a professional teacher

Why aren't you playing with the pros? Johnnyt

I wish i could compete with the pros but in all reality I'm just an amatuer that plays pretty good.

If I could play 8 hours a day like most of the pros I might be able to get there but at my age, 60 and as beat up as I am physically right now trying to play in any pro event would be pretty tough.

I like to play in one here and there to support the event and play some of these pros but that's as far as it goes.

Right now Johnny, I look like a carnival act walking into the pool hall with my neck brace on and a brace on my right wrist.

I can take off the neck brace to play for a little while but I need to keep the wrist brace on all the time. it makes it harder to play though because it restricts the hand quite a bit.

The good news is these bar tables just got recovered and are real fast so I don't have to stroke the shots real hard, but kind of gentle. And the ball draws real fast, as fast as I've ever seen tables draw.

This fits into the way i have to play right now.

I injured my neck again in a car accident on the way out here. The neck was already bad from my accident in Peoria about 11 months ago.

I can hardly turn my neck and if I go too long without the brace my vision gets blurry and I get a headache.

I have stenosus from the accidents I've had and will have neck surgery as soon as my health insurance kicks in towards the end of April.

I plan on trying to play and teach with one more run for the next month or so. After the surgery i don't know how it will be,

But for now I will stick to just play amatuer events.

I feel my chances of winning this amatuer event are pretty slim.

I know you have some physical problems and will understand.

Nothing I can do except roll with the punches. Not complaining but just trying to have some fun with what might be my last trip on the road.

Back at the room with the ice. need to play again at 3:00.

Just a beat up old guy trying to have some fun.

Got lucky today..........

Played my last match of the day.

We both played bad. The bar tables play tough.

Went hill hill and I got out at the end.

Now I don't have to play until 9:00 AM so I can get a good nights sleep.

The heating unit in my room went out last night. They put in a new one today.

Sounds funny but I'm really thankful I got heat tonight. Woke up this morning and it was about 60 in my room.

Now I just need to last the whole day tomorrow. need to pace and rest inbtween matches.

There are an awful lot of good players in this event on the bar table.

Whoever wins this will earn it for sure.

New Championship cloth and red circle balls but they bounce of the balls like ping pong balls. And draw double or triple what you want.

I never seen anything like it.

The winner will have to do some serious adjustments for sure.

Can't wait for tomorrow.

Plenty of sleep and lots of fun to go after...

Good shooting today Gene. It was nice meeting you. Good luck tomorrow. The red circle found it's way into the hole one too many times for me today as I sold out 3 games to give my opponent the win.
Good luck tomorrow and the rest of the week here in Colorado

Good time at Felt............

Nice meeting you also.

What a great tourny.

I'm going to stay here for about 4 days before I head out.

I will leave denver with a few players playing just a little bit better.

I'm finally starting to feel a little better from the car accident on the way out here.

Got my first lesson at 3:00 at Felt Billiards.

Met allot of old friends that I made 5 years ago on my last trip there.

See ya again sometime. Hope you can get back to Felt before i go.

Sorry I wasn't very talkative. Wasn't feeling too hot.

Business as usual.............

I'll be heading down to Felt Billiards around 1:00 to see what is going on. I want to try and play a little on the 9' diamonds.

All the ice and now the rest has kind of chased most of the pain out of my body. I can now turn my neck. the drive here plus the big jolt when i went in the ditch going through Minnesota had really tightened things up.

I was thinking about just heading back to Wisconsin. The relief i am feeling might just keep me out here. I don't know how much playing I can do and might have to skip Wyomings great tourny but I need to heal up good.

The good news is i can actually turn my neck.

The shoulder and neck are connected and if the shoulder doesn't worrk right it's hard to play. I played in the tourny with a stroke about 3 inches long. Whenever I stroked any bigger the shot was way off. You need all the muscles in the shoulder working. Just one of many not functioning and the shot is doomed.

I have the room here until Friday. Got one more lesson set up on Tuesday.

While doing my lessons today I will for sure set up a few more.

I will be doing mini lessons to any and all players because unless they can see this with their own eyes they just can't even imagine.

About a dozen Perfect Aim players from 2009 came up to me and said Hi. it was great fun and I will be giving these players a little tuneup while I was here. There is so much more that I have learned about the eyes since 2009.

Right now i feel pretty confident that this will raise anyones game up almost immediately even if you've been stuck at a certain level for years.

One man, had a van and the road................

I do plan to some day...............

I wonder if Geno will ever come to the Valley of the Sun again?

And when i do I hope you'll except my offer of lunch and maybe a cup of coffee.

It would be fun to meet with you.

Looking forward to it.

Until then I wish you good health.....................

Just got home from a lesson with Gene. It was a great experience learning about perfect aim. He really showed me a lot about the game. I have received one lesson before Gene, from another individual and walked away from my first lesson with a couple of things. After my lesson with Gene, I have walked away with so much and I have a lot to work on to elevate my game. Gene took the time to explain things to me and made sure I understood what he was saying. He was very patient and very helpful. I was excited to meet Gene and learn perfect aim and he surely didn't disappoint me. This experience has been more than I could have imagined. Gene has so much knowledge and is not shy to share. It was great learning from Gene and hanging out with him. I am glad I got a chance to finally meet Gene. Thank you so much Gene! Travel safely.

I enjoy teaching this so much i almost feel like I should pay the student.

Showing this to you Adam, was extra rewarding because i know how much you enjoy the game and want to improve.

When a player is hungry for knowledge it's so much fun to work with them.

As usual I know that when I stop back in a while they will have your rating raised up for sure. The good news is it will take them awhile to figure it out.

I only wish i lived here to continue working with you to elevate your game at a rapid pace.

Good luck and thanks.

Keep working. It will get real good real quick.

Looks like I will have to head back to Wisconsin.........

My neck, shoulder, ribs and now my lower beck have just went crazy bad. I can't hardly stand up and will be going to a clinic or something to get something for all the pain.

Can't really say which is worse for sure but the lower back is keeping me from standing up straight.

Hopefully if I can get this neck fixed the rest will just get better.

I have a lesson today and have ice on my lower back. I will make it for sure but Wyoming open looks like it is out of the question right now.

Driving back to Wisconsin right now is also out of the question.

Either way it's not going to be fun.

But I tried.

Be heading back Friday...........

First, I wouldn't call it a system........

What world class and or other we'll know pros use this system?

It's a technique teaching a player how to correctly position the eyes to envision the shot.

How's Rodney Morris for a start.

Rodney teaches this also because he knows it works. I showed him at Bull shooters in Phoenix July of 2009.

Hard telling how many players he has showed?

I said Hi to him at Qmasters in Virginia and he told me thanks for showing him this 4 years before.

I could put down 100 names of top players around the country. Half of them were not top players before before they learned this. .

I have over 2,000 personal testimonials on how well this works. I quit putting them on my site.

This is probably the most important thing a pool player could ever learn and it kind of remains a secret.

There is just too much gobledy gook out there and perfect Aim is just kind of lost in the mess.

Players are tired of getting duped with stuff that doesn't work or being showed stuff that they already know. Just shaked and baked a little bit different.

The last lesson that I gave yesterday told me he had 2 lessons before from local instructors and they were both jokes. They didn't feel like they got their moneys worth at all.

When I get done this doesn't happen at all. They know they got some powerful bang for their buck. And nobody is going to tell them that the dominant eye isn't important to aiming.

I have the most valuable info in the world that a pool player can possess.

If it didn't work players would fry me on the internet for spouting off.

But the fact of the matter is that it works and works well.

I don't get fried, in fact I don't even get warm.

Another very rewarding lesson last night............

Got a call when i was going to Ernie Martinez to get a new tip put om.

His name was Dennis. Said he was a c player and so was his wife and wanted to know if I could give them a lesson while I was in Denver.

I had a lesson for 7:00 last night but they had to cancel so i told dennis I could be there at 7:00 and he said great.

I walked into the house and low and behold there was this beautiful 9' diamond. I see this in so many homes when I go to give lessons, so it really was no surprise. they just really love the game and told me that they play every night.

I was really excited but still in allot of pain with my neck and back from my accident on the way out to Denver about 6 days ago. Had a real bad sleep night. . I only hoped that I wouldn't disappoint them with my lesson because I wanted to give them my all.

Dennis knew that I taught this aiming and already felt that this what they both needed to see, how the eyes work. . In a few short minutes his and her smiles were all I needed to know that this was going to be another winner.

Dennis was left eye dominant and Angie thought she was right eyed.

As I was figuring out their eye dominance I could see that Angie was actually left eyed dominant but she was really sure she was right because the pointing test she had done for years said she was right eye dominant.

When we finally got to the cuts to the right and left it told the whole story though. She hit the ball too thick cutting to the right and too thin to the left. I knew right away then that she was left eye dominant for sure. This is classic Perfect Aim dominance recognition to the fullest. I knew for sure that she was left eye dominant.

Once I convinced her by showing her with her own eyes how good the shot looked getting the left eye in the dominant position the ball would go straight in the hole.

Dennis was pretty surprised also.

This was a rewarding lesson for me because this young couple just loves the game and I know now that it will add so much to their fun. Now they can both get better because they know how to correct their aim when it doesn't look quite right.

She told me that she wouldn't even try to cut the balls before but would bank them because she was so bad at the cuts.

She knows now that she will be cutting the balls in from now on and be getting better and better at it all the time.

When i see something like this and can help so much it's pretty rewarding.

Before I left I asked them like I do all the lessons, Is anyone ever going to tell you that the dominant eye doesn't matter when aiming a pool shot.

Their response together was a mutual, immediate No.

Winner all the way.

And Dennis and Angie, if you read this, and i don't even know if you go on AZ, Thank you for letting me share this with you last night.

I had so much fun and wish you both the best of luck with you pool game.

Thanks again. Gene.

PS............ And when i get back to Denver sometime I want to hook up with you and give you a free Perfect Aim tuneup

Off to the Wyoming Open.......

I have a 5 hour drive and no ice to deal with.

Neck felt so so today so I'm off to the Wyoming open.

3 days and 3 tournys. get to play against some pros.

Sounds like allot of fun.

And I will stick around Saratoga for a few days extra to teach a little but of Perfect Aim.

I here this is a great tourny and a great little town.

Can't wait to get there.

You can take the kid out of the country but you can't take the country out of the kid.

Somehow I think that can relate to pool also.

I'm just an old kid trying to have some fun........

One man a small car and the road...............

Gene stopped by my house in Fort Collins on the way to Saratoga tonight...what a treat!

He had visited us his 1st trip to CO in 2009 or so and he said he was passing through and wanted to show me some new stuff he learned if I wasn't busy. Say what you will about Gene's posts, but I can say he honestly wants to improve everyone's pool game. It's pretty cool.

I would recommend anyone who wants to learn some pretty interesting tricks, in addition to getting your eyes in the right place, to get w/Gene when you can. He really is very genuine and a nice person to get to know.

Thanks for thinking of me, Gene. Good luck in Saratoga.

Dave
