Johnny Archer's Buddy Hall Fund Raiser

you are probably right- a while ago a brand new JJ case with idk 10 or so top player autographs was auctioned off. It went for less than the price of the case alone someone pointed out

was it the one from Mosconi? black case w/ gold & silver signatures. we saw the young guy walking around getting it signed.

no this was 5 years ago or more ago -i dont remember all the details. Search Jack Justis case auction- you might find it.

This whole situation is ridiculous. Is it really that hard to honor an obligation? These people paid for this stuff and its been waaaayyy too long! Refunds should have already been sent!

Has anyone made a post on their FB page? Johnny would see it there for sure or sent a pm on the book.

I really hope that the powers that be, here on AZ are taking a real good look at this situation.

Further more I hope that anyone involved in this so called raffle will not be allowed in the future to raffle off anything else, ask for donations, or be involved in anything else like this here on AZ ever again.

You come on a public forum (AZ) asking for people from the AZ family to bid on certain described items, the money for said items is collected then crickets.

Then when AZ members rightfully say something, BT comes on here all pushy calling anyone who dares to voice an opinion for the side of doing the right thing a joke.
JA step up and do the right thing here. I'm not a joke, and this isn't a joke either.

In other words what AZ members are being told is if your not directly involved keep your mouth shut, your a joke. It's a public forum, if you come on here asking for
money from it's members for product, then said product is not delivered the members have every right to say something as to not let you hush everyone so you can sweep it under the rug.

You said it's being taken care of so nothing is said for months, which is fair, then yesterday the guy who's out hundreds of dollars, the guy who bid on the shirt for a good cause, the winning bidder, you remember him don't ya, comes and posts on AZ he's not received his signed shirt. So now after months something is being said again,
which is also fair.

I beg to differ, I think you're a joke, the way this has been handled is a joke, and the fact that it's months later and an AZ member who had the winning bid and paid hundreds of dollars for a Mosconi Cup shirt signed by all the players still hasn't gotten it is the biggest joke of all.

Unfortunately for that AZ member it's really a bad joke and he has said "I won't donate a $1 to any situation like this again, better to burn it" and who can really blame him at this point.

Now I'm sure you'll come back on here huffing and puffing using your usual M. O. saying it's no body's business, complaining about anonymous posters, basically going through your whole (very transparent by the way) routine. Basically doing anything to deflect from the real point which is get the guy the shirt he paid for, period.

You can try to spin this anyway you want but, no matter how long you roll a terd in powdered sugar, it still ain't no Jelly Donut !

As I stated above, and will state again, I hope the powers that be from AZ are watching this closely and don't allow the people who ran this fiasco to ever do it again here on AZ and then act belligerently to the AZ members who call them on it.

Well communicated message that deserves a X2.

What do you expect from a fund raiser to help the person that probably did the most damage to pool? Maybe people will better remember that when using the term "pro player", that "pro" is short for "professional". Just because you make money at something does not mean you behave professionally. Wait for DPNews to get on here and tell you all about how they're saving pool.

Edit: To give a few examples..

I donated to whatever cause that was a few years back to help a pro player(or their significant other) with an eye surgery. Got no response to a follow-up question.

I donated to Jeanette Lee's cause to help a young boy, promising a signed ball(for my g/f) in exchange, which was never sent. I was hesitant to ask about it, but did and got.. wait for it.. no response.

I donated to Lee Brett's entry.. well, we know how that went.

Not sure what other causes I may have put into involving "professionals".

I gave some money for a few non-pro things here.. and they showed appreciation and followed up.

Which cause do you think I'll be willing to give to in the future?

Obviously a post by a shit stirrer who has nothing to do with anything.

Everything was delivered on the fundraiser. The jersey where forwarded to me by both wionners and I am getting the signatures collected that Johnny agreed to. Both Jersey winners are aware of the entire process. Barking has asked for a refund and Johnny just told me he will send him his money back.

All signatures have been collected except Earl, Johan and Karl. In between 8 shows in a row I am still working on the remaining 3.

The Lifestyle Eventually Catches Up

Last week I heard JA talking on a live stream talking about the times he was playing golf in Hawaii. I also remember stories about top players winning tournaments or gambling matches and then pissing away tens of thousands of dollars at the Casino. Then of course you have Buddy's famous dump! These guys have no concept of the value of hard earned money and no concept of integrity or personal responsibility for their actions. Not surprised that Buddy can't pay his phone bill and Johnny can't keep his commitments! These two are not professionals representing a great sport. Glad neither of them are representing the USA at this years Mosconi Cup....Nuff Said!

Ray

I didn't read into it as a crap stirring post as much as it is right on the money for how this went down.

People were let down and still waiting on the merchandise that they rightfully won/purchased.

You received the money in a timely fashion and the winners are still waiting.

Doesn't matter, you can spin it any way you like.

How this went down will determine if you will ever be able to pull another like it in the future.

I doubt that it will go over well.

Directly, its not your fault as you're still waiting for someone to fulfill their end so you can keep yours.

Still, it was your thread and you got caught in the middle. People will remember that the next time around. Thats all that matters.

Terry;

that's why I think it's important to keep pointing out that Ray, too, was let down.

and he stood to gain nothing in all of this.

just a guy who was trying to be helpful.

best,
brian kc

And to be fair to Ray, that is why I added that Brian.

Still, if someone were to try something similar for the next Mosconi, people will naturally be Irish about it, (O'Leary), and it may not fly well.

Yes, Ray tried to do a good thing. I am sure that Hind Sight will play into. the next one.

A Pro, short for Professional let him down. Big surprise there, right.

Yet, calling members shit stirrers and such isn't the way to go while yer scrambling to cover your butt because of someone else.

Quite clear as to who the major disappointment is in this one.

It doesn't dissolve the fact that members didn't get what they were promised.

Thats the bottom line and the next time that a Pro makes a thread looking for a hand, people will remember.

JA certainly didn't do anyone any favors for the future on this one. I am sure that if anyone, people would expect more from him than this.

JA just let us know that he also puts us into the Little Pissant Category that most Pros figure us for anyway.
