Question for Mark Gregory?
This is directed at Mark Gregory as a question that only he can answer. I was standing right next to Glen when he called you and told you that guy from Canada that he'd recieved the GC2 rails from to rebuild had picked his rails up from Glens shop overnight and left with them back to Canada, that's point one. Point two was that he TOLD you on the phone that if and when he sent his rails to you to finish rebuilding them, that he'd PAY you the $1,300 that he'd recieved to rebuild his rails that way he wouldn't get screwed over, so when the guy from Canada sent you his rails, did you TELL him that RKC was going to pay you for rebuilding them? And if not, why didn't you. I've known Glen for a long time, clear back to when he owned his first pool hall in 1987. I've worked for Glen off and on for years, including when we were building the King Cobra coin operated pool tables. I get mad at him sometimes because he just won't open up about some things because he feels like if it's no ones business, then that's it, it's no ones business and he's not going to talk about it to anyone. But for everyone here on AZ to see Glen other than what he really is, is just wrong. When we'd change the design to the coin operated pool tables we'd built to a better design, I'd always have to go out to a bar somewhere and completely gut one of the tables we'd built and sold, and install the newer operating system, at no charge to the bar owner other than recovering the tables. Now, really, would someone that cares so much about his reputation actually rip someone off like everyone on AZ claims he did? All Glen is doing by not explaining to everyone on AZ, is protecting you Mark, because I know what I heard Glen tell you, that he'd pay your fees for rebuilding that guys rails, so what happened on your end, because it's clear he mailed his rails to you, and you charged him to rebuild them, next thing we all hear is that Glen ripped someone off by not giving the guy his money back. First off.....as usual no one wants to sign their name to their comments.
I have no idea as to what you think you heard....or what kind of story your trying to convince someone of....but I do know this for a fact.....glen NEVER offered me money to do anything...so if your trying to use me to defend Glen....your way out of line.
Glen said the guy came and took his rails and left.....he laughed about how the guy was a jerk for taking his rails.
Now I have no reason what so ever to lie about anything....and Glen knows he can't offer to pay me for working on rails....I don't care who's rails they....I like Glen a lot....but Glen still owes for 4 sets if pockets I've mailed him 3 years ago.

After the customer goes all the way to Glen's shop and picks up the rails, then Glen offers to send the money to Mark? At that point it is not Glen's decision to do anything with the money except give it back.
If Glen was any sort of a decent businessman, he would have called Mark and sent him the rails and the money as soon as he realized that he wasn't going to complete the job in the timeframe he promised. That is called proactive customer service.
Apparently your friendship with Glen clouds your judgement, and from reading the few posts you have, they all have to do with Glen. Not saying you shouldn't support a friend, but in this case, I will help be your moral compass and tell you Glen screwed the pooch and continues to do so until he refunds the full amount to the customer.
Yeah, I don't get it. Why doesn't Glen just send his customer the $1300.00 back and let the customer decide what he want's to do?
I have no dog in this fight but I gotta say this. I have read a ton of these RKC/Diamond threads and he and Diamond may be the best thing going, but it seems to me that with all the time, trouble, and aggravation it takes to get one of these tables built and delivered, my old 8 foot Olhausen or possibly a new 9 foot A E Schmidt table look better and better. I live in St. Louis and my guess is I could call Kurt Schmidt , and he would build about anything I could dream up, and have it delivered and set up in about 30 to 45 days, and that table would play great!

Well, you can say what ever you want I guess, but I know what I heard, I was standing right next to Glen when he said it, so whatever. I was at Glen's shop to when UPS showed up with the rails from Canada as well, working on a set of GC1 rails, and that was at the end of October, so Glen didn't have the rails as long as you're making it out to be either, I think it was about 2 months total that he had them. But, like I said, you can say what ever you want, some of us know the real truth.
The real truth? Who has the 1,300 dollars? That's the only thing that matters at this point. Who said what and who heard this or that doesn't mean anything at this point.
The money.
That's all that matters.

Glen has the money and has yet to send it to anyone.

The issue is when will Glen return the money?

Bottom line if I have to return property to a customer...especially one that actually flew in and waited for me. The first thing I'd do is give them their money back with a big fat apology. Right or wrong. I don't care what the reason is or whether or not I even agree with them. Its their property and their money. Money that was paid for a service. A service that wasn't seen to completion, if barely started.

Return the money then, and only then, can Glen and Guppy cry about the details. Until then its theft.

So let me get this right...you were there when the rails came in Glens shop from Canada....well then.....what was the hold up.......you mean to tell me......he put the rails in the truck when he was already paid for the job.....to ride them around for 2 months?

Kevin's a really nice guy....that's the guy that owns the rails....not my call if Kevin posted the story on AZ....I didn't ask him to post.....nor did I tell him not to post.....none of my business....as long as Kevin was happy with the rails I sent back to.....and he was...then my job was complete.

+1 for Mark's work. He's been to my house twice over the past few years - once to replace the cloth on my old table and recently to install a GC - and his work is top, top, top notch. Keep up the great work, Mark.
