The Ballad of John and Lou, Part Two

I was there it was a great game it was the first time I ever took my son to the pool room you made quite the impression on him so did the 2 girls who played after the 1 pocket game it's realy nice to see some fire back in pool I even ran in to Dennis spears that night my old 1 pocket foe lol iv been playing him since I was 12 years old at west end Any way I realy enjoyed watching you play

Sorry, I posted the wrong pocket as yours initially and then fixed it within less than half an hour, which I see has caused confusion. Your pocket was the left pocket from the breaker's perspective.

It's OK, I'm the one that got confused.

How did Gail like the hilarious voicemail from the "you two guys"?

I wanna hear it! I bet there was some hoopin and hollerin!

;)

Once again, congrats on not letting your nuggets get vacuumed up into your abdomen. Mine would've likely been absorbed up into my ear canals. Not many C players have the capability to fade $10K and a 32 year long circus.

She loved it! If I could figure out how to do one of those sound clip thingies I'd put it up here. Thanks, KK (and Pinkie).

Wow! Really John? you really gonna stick to that? Hmmmm. Lou states he specifically heard Dennis saying “You gotta protect the four ball” or “Bank the six over to your side.” And no: there was no prior discussion, much less agreement, on cornermen or coaching.

So one of you is LYING and I gotta go with IT'S YOU. Um, I was there with Koop and it was us that had the conversation with Lou after the first night's play ended. The whole buzz of conversation on our side the rail was Dennis was obviously coaching you, and why wasn't Lou, his backers, or Eddie saying anything about it. It looked ridiculous.

No-friggan-body slinks down in their seat, hides behind a column, and covers their mouth to give a pep talk or words of encouragement

Now I can't think of any reason, other than you're nuts, for you to even lie about it if there was no rule against it anyway.....except that there is some small part of you that knows it was the wrong thing to do.

Koop -it was great getting to hang for a bit. I gotta figure a time to come up to your neck of the woods.

Lou - Pleasure meeting you and congrats. wish i could have come back for day 2.

Thanks, Jerry. Much appreciated and a pleasure meeting you too.

From an outsiders perspective who doesn't care either way(but did watch some of the match) the coaching accusations sound really nitty and pathetic. Are you saying the coach was allegedly relaying in signals via hand gestures or something to with the clapping lol.

Mentioning in passing that my opponent was coached is "nitty and pathetic" but him doing it in the first place is not?

The clapping had nothing to do with it. What you could't see on camera was that Dennis was sitting right next to John's chair near the left hand pocket. He didn't need to use hand signals, just whisper loudly from behind his hands, which he was using to cover his mouth.

I got here about the time this match happened, so I don't really have a dog in this fight. I'm just curious about the PayPal comment. It seems there was something behind the scene on that?

At the beginning of the match Ed called us both to the table to finalize the bet. John asked if he could PayPal me the $7K he owed to the pot and I went off saying something like, "You bring your money to a match like this..." until I realized he was just messing with me.

Thanks, FR. The women were pretty impressive to watch. We hung around for a few games to try and give them something of an audience.

“This isn’t about the money. I don’t care about the money. This is about good defeating evil. Light vs dark. You gotta win for all that’s right in the world and put John Barton down.”

Mike L.

So there we have it, the summation. It is easier to define who we are with the proper enemy. Exacting revenge is so much simpler than developing understanding, carrying grudges easier than forgiving.

John is not evil. He just wants to be accepted and admired - that's all. We all do. We just go about it in different ways.

As much as I wanted to dislike Lou for what he did, I just couldn't. We have so much in common.

Lol no kidding. Here I want to wish you good luck, keep your head up, stay focused, you got this etc...but I won't want anyone else noticing me telling you this. He can stick by his story all he wants, but it is pretty obvious to everyone except maybe a few nuthuggers that this happened when you start having people with no dog in the fight that were actually at the match watching come out and say they saw it.

Unless someone was sitting right next to us they have zero clue what was being said.

I guess every one has super powers to hear any conversation from across the room?

Dennis has his own mannerisms as anyone who knows him knows. Hell I can't understand half of what he says anyway when there is nothing else going on much less me trying to battle for 10k.

LiesomeMore saying its good vs evil as if he is on the good side is the biggest piece of nonsense ever.

John,

Time to tell your side. I was a little involved in that dispute but it was so long ago my memories are really vague. Maybe I'll have to get the old HP out of the garage and search for the emails.

I will ask you the same thing - to make an earnest effort at being understanding. Everybody has motivations. It's difficult sometimes figuring out what went wrong.

That "dispute" was off the rails forever. There were reported phone calls, reported death threats, reported assault threats, reported alerting of state, federal, and international authorities and a few bannings. Trying to attach a right and wrong to a deal like that is missing the point.

And you are right. Once sides get drawn, we tend to see things only from our own point of view and are so busy refuting the other guy that seeing his point of view is impossible. I will say this, the further we move away from understanding each other, the less intelligent we are.

With how you handled yourself on this forum prior to the match with all the verbal diarrhea you spewed on here about Lou and the match (including what you pulled in regards to the bets on here and in person)....do you think you have an ounce of credibility? You can call it harmless trash talking all you want...but people without blinders on can see you for what you really are with all the lies that come out of your mouth as well as what you type on here...you are Bad Action and (insert descriptive phrase for what they think about you as a person)

Bad action? I put up $10,000 of my own money and paid for the stream. I would have posted $20,000 if Lou's super smart secret backer would have had the balls to cover it when I offered to post it ALL prior to the match. But no they thought they would pull a move and come over the top while I was setting up for the show. Backfired there didn't it.

Bad action is when you don't pay not when you don't bet. If I make a bet on a game that has not started then I can call that bet off anytime UNLESS the money is posted with an agreement that no one can back out. I can change my mind at any time and call off bets before the first ball is struck.

You are a sideline spectator who has had a hard on for me for years. You didn't even have the cojones to try to make a bet in the first place as far as I can remember. But maybe you did - I wouldn't know with the way the threads were constantly closed and moved around.

So Matt Spinali save your condemnation for someone who cares about what you have to say. Next time you get in the box for $10,000 of your money playing pool tell us. Oh I am sure you will tell us you bet more than that every hand playing poker but even if true which I doubt it would be, playing pool and playing poker are vastly different and it takes a hell of a lot more balls to go heads up in pool where you can't get lucky on the river and take out a better player.

My credibility with all who matter to me is fine. I don't care what a troll thinks about me because trolls don't matter one bit to my life and income. I validate trolls by responding to them and give them meaning to their life. You are only someone because you have someone like me to attack. Otherwise you're a super nobody.

Only on a forum like this can you pretend to be someone whose opinion matters. It doesn't.
