Ok, this isn't about doing the wild thing.

This story is about cue tips suddenly and mysteriously being found by a professional player to be literally soaked with moisture.

Brandon Shuff found his playing shaft's tips so soaked with water that he was forced to borrow someone else's cue in order to finish the tournament, in Thibodaux, Louisiana.

No one knows how this occurred for sure. Theories are many. What's yours?
Sabotage, environment? What specifically? You know they had to be totally SOAKED in order for Shuff to have to borrow a cue.

wow that is weird. He plays with a kamui right? sounds like sabotage to me ! Let the conspiracy theories fly ! Did you get to see them when they were soaked Joey?

No I didn't get to see them soaked and yes it is Kamui Black Clear Soft. The case was NOT WET.

They are everywhere. The soaked tips happened at CueSports. The International Pool Community should demand an investigation.

Condensation

I have no clue what truly happen, but my theory is condensation buildup.Possibly the tips acted as a Desiccant and absorbed the moist air within the case when closed and moved to a cooler climate. I'm no CSI investigator so I don't have the "Enhance" multiple times feature. Still very odd and I can see what would lead one to think something malicious took place.

Did he just fly in from some very cold climate and bring his cues into a warm, humid climate? If so, it could be condensation.

I had a cue do this to me as well. I have no clue as to this phenomenon. I had a sneaky Pete that I never played with and one day decided to donate it to my bosses new table.

I wanted to check the tip to see if it needed scuffing and noticed it look extra dark? I touched it and it was wet? So wet that when I pressed the tip down beads of water would come off the side of the tip.

I have no idea how this happened but I'm glad to know I'm not the only one!

But seriously, the responsible party should be hunted down & eradicated from the pool World.

I've seen this happen when someone has their case open with the cues or shafts in this case in it, and
someone spilled a drink into the case by accident and didn't say anything. Then when the player went to take them out... well you know the rest.
The bad part is the spill happened say on a Monday night and he put his shafts in his case and left, then Tuesday when he took them out the tips were ruined.

Brandon is no doubt using Kamui clear tips. The clear section of tip just below the leather and above the ferrule is dehydrated water. It does not happen often but it's not impossible in areas of the deep south for this section of the tip to re-hydrate and soak the tip.

I have further validated that when compressed, the liquid that seeped out from the sides of the tip were blue in color, indicating that they had fallen into one of Joey's "grumpy old man" chastising posts with the blue font.

In order to repair, you must have the tip push for a code of conduct in professional pool and shill for a few pool products. That will dry it out in short order.

Rubbing Alcohol spill

I guess the story is Bigtruck had some Rubbing Alcohol spill and it saturated the case. I would have never guessed that one.
