On a side note the promotion SVB gets by the pool media is sometimes sickening.

For example, if he had won the news would be all over here. Yet the news on here about Darren remains to be about a d.q. with little to no mention of the domination he displayed.

Another example, look at the title of this article and how SVB gets the attention in the headlines while the fact that Darren is winning is secondary.

Congrats to Darren for a great showing under a little more even conditions.

Congrats to Darren for a great showing on an even playing field.

Very hard to argue Daz is not the best 'All around' player in the world at the moment. Im assuming there are no unknown Asian One Pocket wizards

I can see where you got that impression, but I'd say SVB and Darren got 'equal' billing in that headline.
SVB's name just happened to come up first.

You could probably argue though that SVB needn't get mentioned at all and the headline
should read "Darren dominant going into day 5" or something.

But by mentioning that another player has a shot, they make it sound more interesting
and competitive. If they made it sound like a foregone conclusion that appleton won it...
some people might not bother tuning in because it sounds like a blowout.

OK, now before I go any further, how the fck do you read this chart??

Because no matter how I read it, the wins and losses don't seem to add up right.
I would think if you go left to right next to each player's name, the W's will equal their wins,
the white numbers = their losses, and the X's = N/A. All tallied at the far right.
But Darren has 7 green W's, not 8, and 5 lost games, not 4?

I don't think its a pool game...I think its bingo.

Would really have loved to see Alex in that mix. Sorry he had to miss it.
Congrats to a great performance by DA though.

No no, you don't look straight across, you have to see the diagonal as the hypotenuse, and then calculate the wins with SOHCAHTOA.

Good gawd, that brings back memories!

What does this prove

It proves one thing. Darren was better the particular week, that is all. If the best baseball hitter goes hitless in 15 at bats, does that mean he is not the best? No, he bounces back an goes on a hitting streak because he is the best.

Don't look to much into this. They are both great players. I did him them say Toasty was the #1 rated, and he finished below both of them.

Darren beat toasty in 10b from what is shown on the website. That would make 8 wins.

I agree with the above. This only means darren was the best All around player of the 4 for that week.

I'd like to see dazz in a big money action match vs shane in a long race of 8b or 10b. vs dennis would work too.

Accu-Stats All Around...Interesting Facts

1. Darren lost all three of his Straight Pool matches.
2. Darren won all three of his One-Pocket matches.
3. After he lost his first match, Thorsten took a short lesson in One-Pocket from Billy Incardona and improved at least a ball. He beat SVB in his next match.
4. Dennis left Manila with a brand new shaft and after he lost his second match he traded it with Sandman for a different shaft. His play immediately improved.
5. The Diamond table on which all matches were played came from Darren Appleton's room in Allentown. Darren said, however, that it played differently after it was set up in Sandcastle.
6. Dennis Orcollo's flights from Manila to NJ took over 24 hours, counting the lay-over in LA.
7. SVB won only one 8-Ball and only one One-Pocket match.
8. Thorsten had the only run over 100 balls in Straight Pool, 111 against Appleton.

I only count 7 wins for Daz if he lost all 3 14.1 matches and 2 of 3 10 ball.

There is an error in the above chart

I only count 7 wins for Daz if he lost all 3 14.1 matches and 2 of 3 10 ball.

The chart above is wrong.
Thorsten lost all three of his 10-Ball matches. He did not beat Appleton in 10-Ball. That's why the numbers don't add up.

Appleton was 8-4.
Dennis and Shane were 6-6.
Thorsten was 4-8.

This was a great format. I was only able to watch a few days but enjoyed it. Thanks to AccuStats for putting this on. I would pay to watch another of the same format.

I would have paid to watch this one as well, but I was out of town visiting family and they were not interested in watching pro pool in the slightest. I think it's unfortunate that this event was not recorded and archived. I paid for the previous 14.1 and 1-pocket MIH invitationals and would have loved to have a chance to see this one but that is not possible now. This is a loss for pool IMO.
