I need a coach

My last post on the subject. .. there are thousands of instructors out there now. That teach a curriculum. And I have benefited greatly From this type of instruction. I also Work very hard To continue Educating myself. .. are there any instructors that monitor the students progress after the initial instructions. My analogy is this..... I was taught how to swim, I got better and better in with confidence I went out to deeper and deeper water. Now I'm kind of lost Out in the deep water Surrounded by sharks I can hold my own Against any individual shark. But over time. I'm either going to drown Or get eaten.. I need somebody to help me learn how to swim with the sharks. .. I have looked on the internet for all kinds of billiards instruction. I cannot afford hourly rates And the travel To get to the instructor. I am sure that their instruction is worth every penny. I don't know how to go about Compensating Somebody the monitor My training. and to communicate with me on a regular basis. .. in the beginning it would definitely be an investment on the instructors part. He would be investing in my future as a money player. I am starting to lean towards Hey percentage of my winnings. I think 20% .. I am located in Alabama. And I'm a very honest person. I am looking for a long term relationship with a coach. .. if there's any professional instructors out there that are looking for something new a little side job. Use me as a Guinea pig For future players like me. I don't know what else to say. There is real power when you have somebody in your corner. I have been top of my game And nobody even knows it.. I've been beaten before and it sucks. But i win and nobody to tell sucks too .. I don't wanna play your coach the player is always concerned about his own game. I need somebody to focus on my game. . The big time instructors I need you to look at this is an experiment. My numbers at the top. I gotta get back to work.

Your post speaks of the truths that most are unwilling to admit about themselves.

If make a wager with someone who has a wife and children and you beat them out of their money, you beat the wife and children out of that money as well.

Some wagers are interesting, fun and add another dimension to the art of playing pool. That being said..............

If you make a wager of say $10,000 and you are pretty sure you are going to win the wager and it is against a man who has a wife and children, then you can consider yourself bankrupt of morals and little more than a thief.

Bill Gates has a wife and children. Not sure @ Dippy Dave. ;)

But if ya play me for $10K, I'm gonna 1st buy me a fresh CO2 cannister for my pelletless pellet gun. :grin-square:

Come on Anthony...if you're going to tout your skills, please do so as yourself, and stop using multiple log in names to make it seem like it's not you. If you are confident in your instructor skills, there's no need to make up third party names to pump you up.:rolleyes:

Scott has been on my mind, just not sure if he is into the dark side of pool. I know he is a great teacher. Im rough around the edges he seems like nice guy. I wil shoot him e mail see what he thinks. Thanks for the commentS I really appreciate nobody bashing me.. lol

Scott Lee this is not Anthony. My name is Bill Sullivan,I live about 3 hours from Anthony and have taken his class in the past and I look forward to getting back there soon.
So,now you know who I am

If you simply want to get better, don't focus on how much money you are making from the game. The two are not related to eachother. Improvement is about pushing yourself and challenging players that are better than you. Winning money games is about making sure the guy you are playing is not better than you.

Sorry I come across like its about money. I can assure you its not. I spend more time playing by myself Then I'll ever play competition. But Who's going to play in a tournament there was money involved. What players are going to match up with me without having anything online. And I'm a poker player I like to put my money where my mouth is. Ask anybody I play cheap. . Lucky for my opponent lol. .. it is funny half the people criticize me for not gambling more and then the other half I think all I care about is money. . . My total goal As far as making money playing pool Is to pay for my hobby. Equipment books videos Life coaches And occasionally I enjoy Waffle House. I can't wait to actually talk to somebody about this. . I walk into a pool hall And 50 different people have 50 different opinions about me. Not one of them is close. . Thks.

AZBilliards is your coach, with the exception of a few assholes here and there, and a few smartasses who comment bullshit, if you write your situation in a thread, you'll get sound advice. theres good people here who will give you genuine feedback:thumbup:

er... what if both guys think they are going to win?

What if in multiple polls say one guy is favored to win, but loses?

What if one of those guys thinks the guy with wife and kids is going to win?

What if... ah nevermind, you get it :-)

My history is like this, opened a pool hall ten years ago, went to pool school, sold pool hall to focus on playing...
Your post above was from another thread where you were posting on the exact same topic.

So you went from the only side of pool where there is any real chance to make a decent living (the business side) over to the side (the player side) where the chances of making a decent living are real remote? My coaching advice is not to let your love for the game cloud your judgment. Your always want to do best for your income and stability and family. And of course you also want to play pool often and to your full potential. In the times where these things conflict with each other and something has to give, it should be pool that loses out. If not you will come to regret it later.

Poolplaya9,

I tried to give you green rep for this, but I couldn't. This is some great advice.

I would reach out to David Sapolis "Blackjack". He is always posting excellent mental tips on facebook, and I think he still posts here.

Yeah but owning a pool hall was killing me, and i had no security. I drive truck an make more money and benefits. I also can think pool all the time. One day when i can't drive or play i want another place. The battlefield about drove me bonkers .. but it was a learning experience for future .. i think i am better player than pool hall owner and I think I will be a better owner in future because of my pursuit of being player.
