How do cuemakers make their cocobolo deep red ? Is it stained? All the stuff I see is brown.

You turn the piece of wood and wait a few years to see. It is the wood itself, not the cue maker.
As Paul said, it is the wood. Some cocobolo is mostly brown, some has heavy black stripes, some is reddish and some is more orange. I have some that is purplish. It is an amazing wood with a lot of variety.
Raw cocobolo oxidizes over time to a dull brown. A fresh cut makes it look totally different. However, you need to give it some time for the colors to normalize and deepen.
For instance, take a look at this plank with a fresh crosscut. I expect the piece will have some orange in it once it normalizes.

Yep some of the real red Cocobolo is amazing looking. Camatillo aka Mexican Kingwood is brownish with black streaks but every so often you come across some that is deep violet with black streaks and it's amazing also. Rare woods have some stunning coloration, nature at it's best! lol...

Not a problem, looks like everything is resolved. I don't think you were out of line posting the rules in response. It does serve as a good reminder. It's nice to see people on here making comments with the intent to uphold the forum rules and serve the interests of everyone (instead of finger-pointing and ad hominem attacks). Clearly, we are more sophisticated here than users in those other sections...

The only way to get what you want is to pick it out yourself. You can ASK your supplier to send you exactly what you want, or even pics. Keep in mind that their time is money and EVERYONE wants the best for CHEAP. Offering 5-15 a piece or more for good stuff is an afterthought if the regular squares are crap.
Honestly it was a minor error. I could care less about being guilty as charged. Finding wood is a search away... Have a nice day!!
Picking your own cannot be overstated. I have put many miles & dollars into the travel it takes to visit suppliers. Call it hoarding & underhanded if you like, but I also buy a supplier out when I find something unique & extraordinary. I don't do it because I want to build a bunch of cues with that wood. I do it so that I am the only builder with that wood, and can be assured that I won't be seeing other cues with it unless I gave some to the builder. Everybody builds cues with cocobolo, so for me to use it, it has to be very good stuff.
