Can E Cigarettes save pool?

I'm curious as to whether anyone has approached any tobacco companies whom have interest in e cig companies for sponsoring major tournaments like the U.S. Open?
I don't think its illegal to advertise e cigs yet. Other sports bodies might be hesitant to step down this road, I think there might be an opportunity here.

I find it quite ironic, how some states are trying to ban vaporizers while other states are legalizing pot.

Legalize everything and let Mother Nature takes its course.

US politics has a part to play in this as suggested above.

However, flip the coin.
What has US Pool got to offer any major sponsor at this moment in time?
Back yard cleaning first

If people just gave up smoking and be done with it. Win win for me anyway.

Uh, "win win" means BOTH sides of a deal profit, fwiw.

The precedent, that hall owners don't really call the shots (but must still pay the bills...hmmm), has already been made with cigarettes being banned by those who never come into pool halls anyway...and with many pool players' blessing and help.

Can't have it both ways.

I win because , I don't have to put up with their second hand smoke,They win with improved health and some extra money for other things.
Our local pool club is doing very well and we are getting more younger people coming along now. Way better than before.
The places that allow smoking, are seeing their numbers fall.

Save pool? No. Just another fad. They are already around the pool scene, here is a photo from SBE...

dumb

stupid idea......... keep all forms of tobacco out of pool halls............. People used to smoke and everything including myself smelled like stinky tobacco smoke. People dipping and spitting in coke bottles of cups with a paper towel in them.......... disgusting...

We don't need blue lighted cigarettes either.

Anyone that tells you that a bar or pool hall went out of business because they stopped smoking in them is either liar or an idiot................

18% of people smoke ........... why would anyone let them make choices for the other 82%...............

25% of people vote....why would anyone let them make choices for the other 75%?

I was just trying to cover all the bases............. LOL

don't take it personally..........

75% of people are just too lazy to vote.... they get what they deserve and have no right to ***** about what or who gets voted in....

if they become popular, I stay out. same as smoking, bad stuff in those chemicals they use.

In answer to OP, one has nothing to do with the other...tobacco companies (Camel) used to sponsor pool tours, found that it was a losing proposition and quit. I don't care if it's Maybeline, Pepsi, Ford or Philip Morris. Sponsors want exposure, and selling cigarettes or vapor machines or energy drinks to the people who attend pool tournaments isn't worth the advertising dollars. Until pool is on TV again, there's nothing to really get sponsors to want to spend money. I still insist that reality TV is the shot in the arm that pool needs. Why it hasn't happened yet is an absolute mystery to me...a bunch of rednecks at child beauty pagents, rednecks roping/shooting gators, hell, even fake rednecks selling duck calls make the cut...put cameras in Earl's apartment and Steinway and it writes itself. Then they will be lining up to throw money at it and pool in general.

I agree 1000%. I have been saying this for years about Earl. Now that he is at Steinway, it is even better.
