Oi, Barton...

What part of "not happening" are you having trouble understanding?

If I'm the one saying it, which I am, it doesn't matter what *anyone* else says regardless of how much money they have or how much they might want to put me in the box.

Lou Figueroa

Ok fine. That's on you. I can fantasize about it and discuss it as much as I like. I already figured I would only get one shot anyway. It is fine with me if you don't want to play again. Saves me the embarrassment of losing twice and for more money.

But I can ask and make a formal offer when I am ready and if you don't want to play then say so then.

If I were in your shoes I would not hesitate. That's what I learned from Buddy Hall's book. Never refuse to play someone you beat. Then again you sir are no Buddy Hall so I can fully understand your reluctance.

Anyway when the time comes perhaps you will have changed your mind. Humans are very capable of doing so.

Funny that this match took place because Lou was being a bully according to John. While that may be true, it's very obvious who's being the bully now.

Who?

Thaiger?

Because it's not me.

Let's all put this in the right perspective.

I told Lou that I would play him 9:8 for $100 a game and take a $500 beating JUST TO SEE WHERE I STOOD.

I didn't harass him with it, I simply stated it a few times where appropriate and left it at that.

He came over the top barking to play for $20,000.

I said no but I'd be willing to play for $10,000.

Lou called me a coward.

I said whatever, $10,000 is good action and I am not in your league then as a gambler if 10k isn't enough.

----------------

Lou then proceeds for three years to continue to use that as some sort of example of my "cowardice", even calling me a two-bit chump on AZB.

I reminded him that the offer to play for 10k was never taken off the table.

To my surprise he agreed to play and so we finally made a game.

The rest you all know.

---------------------------------------

But I didn't start this, Lou did first with his bullying bullshit on Rec Sport Billiard and later with the same nonsense on here and on One Pocket.org.

You can go all the way back and find out that it wasn't me attacking him, it was him attacking me, and often in far worse ways than he has done it here. He only modulates his responses here because to be the same as he used to be would get him banned. AND he said he has mellowed since then.

Well be that as it may I am not bullying him now and have never done so.

I stepped up and played and lost and simply want to play again.

If this were two pros and the winner was ducking the loser about 99% of you would be all over the winner chastising him for quitting winner. Look it's ok with me if Lou doesn't want to play again. But it's certainly ok for me to ask, and to ask as much and as often as I feel like it. Just like he "asked" me by calling me a coward and a chump and the continuation of name calling that he continues to engage in. Just like the many times he linked to the original call-out thread on One POcket.org thinking he was outing me somehow.

And look at who started the thread, wasn't me, wasn't any of my friends.

I bet all my own money with the exception of $600. I let two folks in who wanted in one for $500 and one for $100. And the one for $500 will be getting a case because there is no way I would let him pay for the performance I put in. And the one for $100 will be getting her money back for the same reason. While I had the heart she has I didn't have her discipline in preparation. If I had then I believe it would gone the other way. So no way will I charge her for my failure.

Now, I paid $10,000 to say and do whatever I want. You and everyone else can criticize which is expected. People like me provide the show and everyone else talks about it.

I will ask Lou to play when I feel like it and if it bothers him he should never have played me in the first place.

You sir are no pool player period.

So says the anonymous troll (who can't be found at his supposed hangout poolhall), who doesn't even use ghostball correctly.

I guess it takes one to know one, eh, duckie?

John,
If for whatever reason you do decide to come to STL to "ask" Lou in person for a game. After he declines (as he said he would), hit me up, I don't play one pocket, atleast not more than 8 hours total in my life. However, I am fairly confident that I simply shoot better than you. Assuming that you are talking about at the break, I would be game for a little one hole with Mr. Barton. Granted its not going to be for big money, as I don't gamble money I can't afford to lose. I wouldn't want you to waste a trip though... so I would throw up a C-note and see what happens. Should atleast cover your gas and dinner if you win LOL.

Sure. Although I already have plenty of action in St. Louis I would be more than happy to play you. And don't be so sure you shoot better. We can play an all around for 100 a set and play every game in the rule book.

I can play at all St. Louis pool rooms, I am not barred from any of them.

I would not waste a trip just to ask Lou to play. No worries there. You can be sure I will never go out of my way to bark at him. Don't know why you put "ask" in quotation marks as if it implies I meant something other than simply ask him.

And I am sure he will decline. Because that's what I knew would happen. Still, each time I come through St. Louis I will ask IF I happen to see him and he can say no a hundred times.

And then you and I will be free to play another $100 set.

Sounds good to me. I suppose I should have put my quotations around "re-ask". I was just implying that you already asked, and got an answer.

I honestly think an all around would be fun, and a great idea.
One pocket race to 3
10 Ball race to 5
Straight pool race to 100

First man to win 2 sets, gets the dough

Although that sounds like alot of table time for $100, but I'm down if you are.

Also... if this get together were to happen. I know someone who has a pretty nice little camera setup, and we could record it and put it up on youtube,

I personally would feel more "invested" knowing all of AZB could see how the match goes, than the $100.

Pride is much more meaningful to me than the $$$.

But what do I know, Im a nobody... no big tournaments under my belt, no TV matches, I don't use any systems... It should be easy cheesy for Mr. Barton ;)

Careful Lou, yer in JB's Spank Bank now.

Scary.

Who says Lou is Human. He worked on Project Blue Book didn't he.

I didn't work on it, I was just the spokesmodel for it. Other than the implant it was no big deal :-)

So you go from nice to rude?

How about we don't play? I don't need to hang out with negative people when there are so many great people to spend time with.

My time is more important than your pride.

Every time I read a post like this from you it confirms that not playing you again is exactly the right choice.

I dont know what I said that was rude... I was not trying to be at all. If it came across that way, I give my apologies. I was just being frank and saying that if it was recorded, the pressure of knowing it would be seen by the masses would put me under much more pressure than losing the money. Pride can be a more powerful evil than a positive trait in many ways. I was stating this moreso as a self criticism than anything directed at you. I was just sharing my feelings. I honestly would really enjoy that game. I feel that your experience and knowledge is likely well above mine. But I think my shot making ability is slightly higher, and I was hoping to outrun your knowledge.

If you would rather pass than I respect that. I was just being playful, and if I came across as rude, I apologize. I genuinely try to give everyone here on AZ respect, regardless of my personal feelings about them (again not about you, just stating my opinion).

Regardless, I would still like to extend the game I previously mention, if you care to do so.

Can I call dibs on free money?

Ok. So the truth bugs you? I mean that's exactly how it went down.

Hey you do whatever helps you sleep at night Lou.

Like I said it's not a big deal for me. When I want to play I will tell you and you can decide then.

Sure. I am still waiting on you to make an offer. I think three times now you have ducked the direct question of how we can match up.

I will be on the west coast next month. Tell me where to go and we can play some.
