What's with all the non-pricing?

Things change, and lets face it there's often times a lot of money flying around. People are trying to make as much as they can... Can't really blame anyone for that.

I doubt the OP was referring to me and my onslaught of WTT posts without prices, but I am actually trying to get help to price my cues. I've been out of the loop for over 10 years, thus I didn't put up any prices.... That said, I tend to agree with the OP, i often just skip over unpriced sticks.

I figure if someone puts a cue up for $4000 that's essentially the ebay buy it now price. If you want it bad enough or its a square deal, offer the ask. Otherwise offer less and see how you fair. Pretty easy.

I would bet dollars to donuts the op was specifically thinking of you when he started
this thread. Have a price in mind or don't list period.

Short and sweet

People will do what they want.

People will complain about anything.

Your points are all taken as I've offended this rule of no-price recently so I'm right in the middle of it, even if I was more actively trying to trade cues than sell cues.

Through this however I've met several STAND UP people on these boards.

That's a win in my book.

In my opinion no one should be allowed to sell anything here without price in their ad.
Should be added in the rules.

.....If the moderators want, I can definitely help in setting a grading system and help setup the new Marketplace. .......

Thanks for offering to fix the for-sale forum. I am sure your vast sales experience here will be of great value.

I disagree with asiasdad on one point, albeit picayune at first blush reaction.
If you have a monster, there are times you might want to sell it besides hardship.

I'm thinking of getting a pretty expensive cue, worth much more than anything I own.
I may or may not want to plop down cash.....If there's one of my cues I'm willing to
part with to defray the acquisition of an even "bigger" monster, it's going to happen.

Even though my cues aren't Szamboti's, they'd fetch a great price and that could be
preferable to dropping $5-6k cash for a really big name cue. And I don't feel I would be
misleading or deceiving anyone if I referred to one of my cues as a monster cue 4 sale.

Besides, what the hell is a monster cue? The definition of "monster" really isn't a compliment.
And the term is so carelessly tossed around by people that I'm not sure there's any agreement
on what truly is a monster cue.....it seems to come down to "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder."

If I want to get jerked around, there better be a happy ending involved. j/k.

Cue Dealah Numba One.

I love you long time. J/K

I am pretty much of the same thought. I come over once in a while to look at the eye candy. There are times when I would be in a serious mood to purchase a cue.

No price = Skip to the next ad. I don't care what it is. Of the few times that I have PMed, I have gotten the odd, "Make me and offer", reply.

If I was a cue expert, I would be able to make a reasonable offer. The main reason that I won't make an offer is pretty much that I can't and don't want to really offend the seller and get called an A Hole.

Agree 100% with you Joe. I only buy 1 or 2 cues a year but if there is no price listed I just move on. It can only help your thread to post an asking price. Like I said in a previous post......this forum has gone to hell in a hand basket the past few years.

People list a price and add 30 percent because we are all gonna haggle it down. This is why so much is overpriced here. It's price plus wiggle room. Also leads to more low balling

Better to price fairly and stand firm on price. If it's a value, it will sell.

pictures + description + specs + price = AZ wanted/For Sale format

pictures + description + specs + pm me for price or make me an offer = Auction format

There is no way on God's green earth AZ is going to get involved in a sale in any way, shape, or form. Too much liability...

.. and look what happened when that hack in Florida threatened over the raffle section. Which is a shame, because I believe that the raffle section would be the most active section on the board.

You can't get a guy to plunk down 2k on a cue, but you can get 50 to plunk down 40 bucks and a dream....

I was around then, but didn't catch why they closed down the raffle section. What happened?

Too many flippers thinking this is a free eBay situation...wanting to sell to the highest 'bidder' behind the scenes. AZB is not a kinder and gentler place for buying and selling any longer.

Exactly.
It should be in the rules to add pics and a Price to the listing or it should be removed.

I to look for pics first to see if I even like the design. 2nd the price to see if I can even consider bothering the seller.

Put up Pics & Price or don't list.

I couldn't agree more.....

I totally agree with Joe on this. If I don't see a price I will more than likely pass, but if I really like the cue or the item I'll check it out. I think if a person wants it they will check it out. That's my 2 cents:thumbup:

The short story is raffles are illegal in most cases, and this jacka$$ threatened to turn them in... and the most ridiculous thing, is that guy isn't even banned.

Hello all

I hate writing, I post pics, specs, pricing/sometimes, ext.... And get flooded with PM'S on specs better pics, balance.. I just posted all of that info.... And at the end it takes hours of my time with miscommunication. I like to get on the phone, give you all the information, talk about the price, what's your price range, maybe another cue that is in your range, this all gets done in 5 minutes, and I get to feel the buyer, seller, trader..... I post a great price, I get asked is that my best price, or I get told I want to get rich. I find a lot of this very funny. Or the best is I drop the price to make it sweet and then people want for me to drop again, and when I don't they ask can I do a better price. People think a cue that has hit a ball goes down in value 85% ..... Yes it's not new but it's not dead either.... It's very rare that someone likes the sale price agrees and don't ask for the " extras " .... I get that a lot . I agree with the OP . All the best Dom

Hay Joe

Can't say how many Cues we have traded. I don't post a price. That insures a buyer will call if they have interest. It also means the buyer will not have to ask for the price to be edited out of my sale post. They almost always ask that.
If a buyer wants a Cue and I mean a true keeper they for the most part want the sale private.
The first post is quoted and this option is gone for ever and a sale is lost. People buying bigger Cues are a private bunch.
Buzzmc is new here and I personally wish to welcome him. He is an absolute dream to work with. Just be honest. I rate him AAA.
Nick :)<--------------Got to call to buy from me

If you like what you are selling prices are firm and keeping is not a big deal.
If you need to sell, stop buying Cues and hating your money
.

To me its very simple, when you sell something you try and provide
the simple and smooth way of selling or buying your product.

Imagine sitting at a restaurant going through the menu and having
to ask for the price of what your hoping to eat for dinner.

Going to the grocery store and asking the clerk for the 50 different prices of items you
were thinking of buying.

I know its just an opinion, but when dealing in anything where your looking
for people to spend there money, its always wise to make a potential
deal as easy as possible for the buyers. Personally when I don't see a price,
I feel that I'm entering a game of cat and mouse and feel a headache coming on.

I agree for the most part.

Can't argue with a buying public that wants private selling. Many here are complaining but really many buyers don't want their new Cue shown here publicly especially with a price tag on it. They buy what they like and can afford to do just that.
The buyer is always right
.
As a collector and buyer of these things I can't argue against the thinking and as I said most here aren't buying they are knocking. Forum not thread.
Nick :)
