I am all for eliminating the side pockets. I can't make a ball in em...except the cue ball.

It sounds like Earl doesn't really want to play pool just some modified game that caters only to him. Maybe it would be a good idea to have standardized equipment barring all the junk he likes to take to the table. Cues no longer then 60 inches and not other equipment then a cue chalk and a standard bridge. I have a feeling he would not like that.
More Earl's in Pool = more fans.
He is the man!! His section of the stands is always packed. He is a great player AND entertaining on the side.... Even if it's a "little" crazy sometimes.

Earl likes to burn his bridges while he's still standing on them. That way people know he's serious about his crazy
many of ya'll seem to forget you're talkin about possibly the greatest pool player of all time
if those people had half an ounce more patience and half an ounce less envy you'd know that all Earl's bs is harmless incoherent babble
I would disagree. I think if you asked 10000 to name one pool player (discounting people who know none) Earl's name would come up the most, probably followed by fictional players from the movies.

Yes, you are correct, glaring ommission! Maybe Earl would be no. 2. In terms of drawing a crowd to an event, I think that Earl is right up there though. Of all the people who have heard of Jeanette I'm not sure how many would pay to watch a pool match. I think her fame is far beyond the game, she is a personality/ celebrity as much as she is a pool player IMHO

Making comments like this to our pool spectators is why Earl needs to retire.
Shame on those who demanded he represent our country at the MC last year.
He is a troubled, two-faced, disrespectful person who needs to simply go away.
No matter how "nice" he appears in his old age—I don't buy it. Sorry Earl.
I am talking about the general public. Asking people who already know him if they know who he is doesn't make much sense.I would disagree. I agree there can be some rule changes, but 2 foul where players will refuse to ever take a shot is not the answer. They will just push out then play safe then push out then play safe etc. It will make it a worse game to watch then one pocket. There is a method to his madness.
With the rules used today the game's simply to easy and the strategy and entertainment value has been drastically reduced.
Playing "TWO FOUL" (two shot shoot out) would be a huge step in the right direction....however, there's no one really wanting to go in the right direction that has any say so.......until the game gets TV exposure we're all stuck with what we have now......and it's a sad, diluted version of what it could be. 'The Game is the Teacher'
With top players most any foul with BIH represents a loss of game. That is ridiculous. Years ago in the south they played neither BIH or 2 foul.In English pool a scratch is ball in hand behind the head string. Also, for other fouls you play from where the balls lie. If you're snookered you can take a free ball or pass the shot back to your opponent.

A pretty good way to play that would kind of split the difference would be, the incoming player can push if he is left safe, but if he hooks himself while running out he has to make a good hit or give up BIH. That would prevent a lot of the cheap safeties played trying to get BIH, you know the kind I am talking about..
This might be a fun thread to follow.

Jeanette Lee has put pool in front of more people than Earl and Shane put together through her TV, magazine, and internet presence. She also is active in charities which I see as a vital role in developing pool's PR reputation and notoriety.
