Billy Incardona - Short Rant

KC,

Do you think you might give me time to read his reply and respond to it before you jump down my throat?

ONB

A; I wasn't jumping down your throat. You seem to have an affinity for misinterpreting.Yeah, I do that a lot.

B. The post of yours that I was responding to was posted a few down from Billy's explanation to you. It's reasonable to think you read his post since it was up a few from yours but maybe you hadnb't gott to it yet.I will "quote" posts that I am referring/responding to. If I "quoted" it then I read it.

regardless, you still don't seem satisfied with Billy's explanation.I replied to Mr Incardona, no need to explain it to you.

and I just saw on another thread you are now making comparison's of Billy to Howard Cosell and Jimmy The Greek. And if you understand sarcasm as you seem to think you do then you understand the import of my post in that thread.

I'll strap him into the electric chair, I'll count on you to throw the switch.

best,
brian kc

Thanks for your brilliant comprehension of the topics at hand.

I've heard it all (being short and Italian). Did you hear about the new Italian tires? Dago through the rain, dago through the mud, and dago through the snow. When they go flat dago wop wop wop :D. I like to get a laugh out of myself...gotta have a sense of humor!

While it wasn't right to say, we need to have a little thicker skin imo, especially toward each other. Billy apologized and seems sincere about it, /thread.

Derailment time.
I am Italian from NYC. I have been called every name and stereotyped from people all over the U.S. and a few countries. I could care less, don't advance forward and we are good.

I have family with Marble in their entire house, they live in the basement, plastic on furniture, still have their communion money, my uncle will dive 30 stories for a penny on the ground. Talk about greasballs, yep I said it, greaseballs in my family.

Now the racist in me, I am so sick of Italian food, no one can cook like Mama,Grandma,Sisters, brothers, all 1700 in my family.

I go out for Sushi, Thai,Japanese, Korean, Ethiopian, Portugeuse, Steak,Mexican, French etc.etc.
That's right, I am racist against Italian Food

It's a good thing Billy didn't have a paddle and went all Forest Gump.
Did he make an error? Yes,,Is it the end of the world? I don't think so.
Nowadays you open your mouth while standing on an eggshell.
Thicker skin sells for .29 cents at the dollar store

Billy has had a stellar career in and around pool. He is a legend and has no history of being a bad guy.

He said he was having a tough time with this player's name, made a slip of the tongue, a brain misfire, or whatever it was and you want to paint him as a racist.

Like gunnslinger said, it's like watching a shark in bloody water.

give the man a break.

he apologized, he gave his explanation, why keep piling on?

best,
brian kc

Irrelevant to the topic... but I think JoeyA has done the best commentary I have seen thus far.

Perfect blend of covering all the bases, doing so poignantly, with enough character in the delivery as not to be boring.

Good job Joey

and aside from that... Mr. Incardona has the most dynamic and reliable commentary there is. You always get what is needed, and rarely are thrown a curveball

Did you even bother to read my posts in this thread or are you really this ignorant? I clearly stated twice that I don't believe Billy I. is a racist.

As usual, you are absolutely right. I guess that using your logic Shane Van Boening stealing a ball from John Morra at the 2012 DCC Bankpool finals will be over the minute SVB makes an apology.

ONB

are you fuvking stupid?using my logic i would say shane give john his ball back and now slap the old fart with the cotton candy for ratting you out.no sir my logic is stop acting like wounded little children, there are real men out defending your ability to act like a little girl
everyone has there role-billy like the man he is came on here took some heat and you still whine like well you know,,YOU
BILL INCARDONA owes you nothing not an apology nothing..

Brilliant retort. Since English doesn't seem to be your 1st language maybe you should ask a 4 yr. old what "brilliant retort" means.

i haven't read the entire thread bud just wondering if the player or players have said they were offended

I for one will be tuning back in. I'm enjoying the commentary. I love hearing the stories that they tell..if they make a mistake so be it. I'm quite sure I would do worse...sitting all day watching and commenting on a game you'd much rather be playing has got to be hard. Not to mention I'm pretty sure they ain't gettin rich from this endeavor. Just want them (all three) that people like me REALLY enjoy their commentary and their outlook on what will the person shoot next etc. Anytime I can listen to a few guys that forgot more about pool than I will ever know I listen intently. A simple mistake was made; apology given now lets get back to pool !

Perhaps....but we don't see other professional sports commentators making comments like "homie just made an awesome dunk" or....."that cracker is really swinging for the fences." It's not about offending someone. It's about common sense of which they seem to be lacking.

Maybe when we start paying our "professional" sports commentators and professional players more, we might be able to expect more professionalism out of them.

If this doesn't satisfy the dissenters, nothing will.

Keep doing a great job Billy Incardona!

JoeyA

They'll probably keep this going for days, if not weeks, going on about nothing, as usual:rolleyes: And, no, it won't satisfy them, of course, as you can see.

Reminds me of: "The pound of flesh which I demand of him Is dearly bought, 'tis mine, and I will have it."

Anonymous people are often the worst critics because they don't have to pay personally for their criticisms. If their identities were known, (names, pool rooms, city and state) most would bite their tongue before spouting off such continued protest.

Billy misspoke. He apologized for any real or imagined hurt feelings.

A nearly non issue has taken on junior high school drama status.

It should be equally short lived and filed in the 'you're fkn kidding me' file, and move on.

Surely as poolplayers, railbirds, even adults....we should be able to focus on something a bit more substantial......and appreciate the body of outstanding work that Billy does in the booth, and forgive a rare foible.

Or not...choice is yours...

My vote is to fuggetaboutit.

Earl Strickland is the best Pool Announcer I have ever heard

Only heard him once, and I was amazed. Billy is fine with me, Cotton too and most all the others I have heard on internet streams.

This thread reminds me of listening to Ralph Kiner many years ago.

I grew up in New York and used to watch the Met games on WOR TV 9 back in the day.

Back in the early 70's Ralph Kiner was the Mets announcer .. these broadcasts were limited to the NY market...

Well it seemed the Mr. Kiner developed a pretty steady drinking habit in his older age.

His words would start slurring by the fifth inning and many nights you could not even understand what he was saying by the end of the game .. LOL

This did not go on for just a few games, but for 3 or 4 seasons!

I guess it turned out that folks found listening to a drunken announcer more entertaining than watching the Mets.

Times have changed I guess .. I wonder what all the younger PC folks would of had to say about my boy Ralph.

Is it the younger folks who are so p.c. or the older crowd?
