Seriously CSI? Forfeits bring losers back?

When people lose in the BCAPL nationals and the guy who beats them ends up sleeping in on their next match can the loser just jump back in and get back in the event?

This was a completely brutal decision and it made no sense. SVB is playing a freeroll with no pressure. Ko was preparing to play Souquet and at the last second you throw SVB on the table as his new opponent?

How the heck could you possibly see this as the fair and correct action? Seriously? This is completely unprofessional and completely unfair to those that made it to the semi finals by WINNING their brackets.

You just tainted your whole event, way to go.
 
I'm not saying that what they did was right, butttttt.....

If they would had given a walkover or a bye it would had been the two ko brothers in the finals again. Then everyone would be *****ing about not putting someone else in the semis and another boring ko brothers final. It's really a lose lose and looks bad on no one but ralf. Sometimes people just get put in a bad spot man. End of story.
 
shane is griffins boy, mark was upset shane lost, so he came up with a way to get him back in. Just like that uncalled foul at the us open last year. Would either of those 2 things happen if it wasnt shane?

how much time in advance was SVB notified. I dont think it is totally unreasonable. This is a round robin format correct? If so someone has to come from Ralph's bracket to play.

Not sure which is worse. That a player can advance to the finals not having to play a semi-final match or that a player no-shows in the semis. I think it is a more correct action to put the 'runner-up' into the spot. Of course, I may change my mind after a beer, food, sleep or hitting my head.. or even if I have a different train of thought.

Very well said couldn't agree more!!! Just goes to show what kind if person mark is!! Ko should of had a forfeit period!! But if your Shane I guess the rules don't apply!! I wonder if mark would care to elaborate on why he did this

BS. This looks bad on CSI and this event.

Ko was mentally prepared to play Souquet. They dropped in a guy Ko has already beaten twice in other events, who already lost out of the 8-ball event, and who now feels like he has nothing to lose and everything to win.

Ralf forfeited, the match was forfeited, there is NO WAY SVB should be there playing right now. He lost out of the event, period.

That is ridiculous line of thought. I am shocked you because the 2 Ko brothers may play again in final you suggest to manipulate and put other players
Whoever gets into final on merit gets to play whether it is the 2 Ko brothers again
The organisers do not have right to interfere and manipulate the players they want to play. That is like Big Brother control

Maybe possible. For sure CSI credibility is affected when they mess up this semifinal this way
 
Talking about that, don't blame only CSI, Shane agrees to play so we should put a question mark to his decision also ? But hey, who can refuse a freeroll for money :) ?
Hard to tell what is the correct move in this situation.
Maybe a blind draw between the 2nd place of each group sounds more fair ?
Or Shane plays and loses :p
 
If Ralph left than that's it no one takes his spot end of story. I'm with fasteddie

This looks awful for CSI, when a person is out of a tournament their out.

This is a "This is my tournament and I can do what I want" move.
They lose all respect from me.

That's exactly what it is. this is their tourney so they can do whatever they want, so sad.
And nobody can say shit because hey, it's free money for you anyway, I invited you here, so you shut up and play.
 
Yeah, the more I think about it the more I start to agree with y'all. The whole thing is messed up. Reasons like this are really why pool is a joke haha. Still can't believe ralf did this. I also think there was something fishy about how Dennis played those last few racks. It's almost like Dennis stuck it to svb on purpose. But we'll never know.

Maybe your right about how Dennis played, maybe not, I didn't see the match.
If you are right maybe Dennis won't be invited back again.

Either way that should have nothing to do with Ko getting a bye, he should.
