Congrats to Justin Bergman he went undefeated to win with a field
of great players he beat Corey Deuel for the hotseat and
Sky Woodward in the finals..

1st place $5400 and $20k for the calcutta the kid can flat out play
I know this was on 7ft Diamond tables but he won the Annual Chuck Markulis Memorial Tournament in Sacramento, CA on big tables beat Carlo Biado in the final, he finished 2nd a few weeks ago at the Memphis Open on big tables, he won the big money 20k Smokin Aces event and did really well in his 1st time playing the World 14-1 in NY all this year and i think this young man has earned a spot on the Mosconi Cup team imo.

Congrats to Justin!!!

As far as the calcutta, did he buy himself in it? How did he win 20k in the calcutta??? Most players in those large calcuttas, such as this one, don't even buy half of themselves when they cost $3000 plus.

i cant say what his share was of the calcutta or the tournament money thats his business but im sure he got a good payday for a weekend

Played great like always really hope he makes the cup don't see how u coulnt put him on

Watched the stream waiting to play in the finals of a tournament in Buffalo. What I'll take away from the event was some incredible play on the part of the players on the live stream.

On the other hand, there was one guy playing in the background early Sunday morning with a red shirt on who drove us crazy! He made Johnny Archer's nit picking routine seem calm. Never saw a guy get up and down then back away and re-address the cue ball soooooo many times. Just unbelievable. Played pretty good though.

Congrates to Justin. Might suggest he gets someone to help him with his on-screen style. Pretty nasty sight. Can't do that during the Mosconi.

Correct me if I'm wrong. Aren't both Bergman and Mark Wilson from St. Louis? Is there a history between them? As far as coaching or mentorship. Anybody know?

That was Billy Lasee...very strong WI player. You might not believe it, but he's a former speed pool champion! (I kid you not)

BJ,

Play with Jason Kane in Vegas from time to time. He won the "World Speed Pool" championship several years ago. Can not believe the two have anything in common!!!!!! thanks for the heads up. As I said, he appeared to play very well. Just slowwwwwwwwwww.

Tournament

The first post says Justin won the 20,000 smokin aces tournament, I thought Skylar won that. I think member terryhanna wrote this. Did Justin win it or skylar?

Justin won the 1st one earlier this yr and Sky won the recent one.

Congrats to Justin Bergman. I like his swagger around the table. Reminds me of a lot of the great players when they were young. Johnnyt

Can you explain?

From the stream I watched early Sunday morning, it sure appeared he was playing in a tee shirt. Perhaps that is acceptable dress at that event. Like someother posters on AZ, I'd prefer to have the players at least look somewhat dignified when representing the game. Sorry. JMHO.

Both are from the Illinois side of St. Louis. Fair view Heights for Justin, Collinsville (I believe) for Mark.

Justin has been training with Mark since he was around 11 years old.

The person that drove u nuts in the red u said was the former Speed Pool champ? I think u meant Bobby Mcgrath right? He had on Shorts and wild socks....He's a friend of mine here in Peoria....If thats who u were talking about I saw him on the table above the streamer and yeah, he seemed to be playing slower and cautious which is unlike him! Lol...He ain't shy either!
