If a female that was 400 pounds walked into a bar she would get noticed also. and to even put duddy on the same level as jeanette is an insult . because number one jeanette is a good player and has done so much for our sport and has won and competed on a very high level and has talent, yes she also has sponsors and plays the pretty girl card too but she not only looks good she plays good pool. Duddy is just an average C player with minimal talent, and on a beauty scale of 1-10 is maybe a 2 . The reason why she is able to get sponsors is simply because there are not enough woman that play good pool and new companies are trying to get there product out there so she fits the bill. Ok so this thread is asking if she is a pro or not and the answer is simple. ABSOLUTELY NOT. and for the wpba to give her that title is an insult to all the females that deserve and earned that title through hard work and practice and having talent. Because the fact remains that lee, fisher, corr, vivian, jasman, kim, poe, webb, and the list goes on have more talent playing oposite hand than duddy has playing her actual speed.
The ultimate issue is that the game isn't organized very well with respects to a definition of a pro and there are very few pro events anyway. I know a few male players that only play pool for a living but avoid playing in "pro" events. They fly under the radar and play in all the big amateur events. Technically they are "pro's".
If it's a handicapped event, and her handicap is fair then why not let her play whether she is "pro" or not. It's semantics. Maybe someday pool will get organized and have real pro tour but now especially on the women's side, pro pool is barely alive.
But this sets back womens equal rights decades.
EITHER SHE IS A PRO OR SHE NEEDS TO GO MAKE ME A SANDWICH IN THE KITCHEN.
Fasteddie doesnt have a problem with the fact that She calls herself a pro. What he has a problem with is the fact that she IS a pro, and RANKED as a PRO. Yet she is allowed to play in an amature event. I personally agree with Fasteddie. If you are Ranked as a pro you shouldnt be allowed to enter Amature events. Yes I agree that she really is about a C+ to B- at best, yet the womens governing bodies of pool recognize her as a PRO.....End Of Story... BTW would you let Karen Coor play in the amatures I didnt think so.......Rank is Rank......period.....
Sir, what you (and many others in this thread) are trying to debate is skill level and that has nothing to do with whether she is a pro or not. I'm not knocking her skill level because I actually think she can play (although I'd love to meet up with her in a tournament). However, world rankings does not determine if one is a pro or not (man or woman). By definition, a pro is someone that makes their income by doing an activity or by doing something related to that activity. If she has pool sponsors, if she gets paid to make appearances at pool events, and if someone pays her to play pool (likely in the form of tournament entry fees paid by a sponsor) then she is a professional pool player.
The haters clearly hate. If she is allowed to play on an amateur tourney which doesn't state No pro's then who cares. Players gotta play and I'd love to see her play any of the haters. Would you decline a chance to play against Feijin cuz he's a pro and you are just a b. Please... But you want nothing to do with her because she's ranked as a b player and a pro. HA.
So she is sexy when she plays pool... That's a bad thing? I'd rather watch her hustle than some of the crotchety men around here.

Maybe I can clear a few things up for those who have opinions but don't know the facts.
WPBA pro players were not permitted to play in WPBA sanctioned amateur events when there was a women's pro tour. Now that there is no longer a women's pro tour, they are welcomed back into many of those events where they were originally banned.
I am sure that if the WPBA once again establishes a regular pro tour, the women pros will again not be allowed to play in those events against amateurs.
Also, keep in mind that in the past there were certain events that were always open to the women pros as well as women amateurs, such as women's state championships.
Players like Emily are a credit to our sport and should be praised and encouraged rather than beaten down. I sincerely hope that if she has the misfortune to read this thread, she is not in the least discouraged by ignorant people who can't help be who they are.
At the amatuer level model she is trying to be, everyone else is making more money off of her than she makes. She's a clown fit for a circus, not a pro pool tournament.

And as a community there will be views that you don't agree with. Don't be such a clueless ass and tell people that if they don't follow the norm they should be banned.
Just like the last time Emily's name came up on the forum, we all agreed then. She is not a pro. She gets attention from the clothes she wears, and has often violated the dress code for a tournament. Here's a question to you, who has made more money. The photographer who took the pictures of Emily on the table or Emily? If you chose Emily, wrong pick. At the amatuer level model she is trying to be, everyone else is making more money off of her than she makes. She's a clown fit for a circus, not a pro pool tournament.
