Sossei is the most underrated player in the country IMO
I am very good friends with Jeremy and I go with him to many events so I see him play often. I can honestly say that he is easily the most underrated player in the country. He has the ability to beat anyone in the world, and he's proved it over and over. I would suggest that people who are judging him and his game, based on this past weekend, to look into him a little more. I can attest to the conditions this weekend. It was a very difficult thing to do going from the normal outer tables, with totally different aged cloth, rails, lights, pocket facings etc. to the diamond table in the arena. It is like night and day. It took him a few sets to get a feel for the table after only playing a total of 3 sets on it the entire weekend. Another thing that goes unseen is the amount of time he played over those days. We arrived at 12:30 PM Saturday and he played until 2:30am. We had to find a hotel then be back by 11am Sunday and play until 11pm. It was brutal. And believe me, these are not excuses. He knows he didn't perform well and was noticeably upset about that, especially with the Mosconi cup selection just around the corner. Having this said and regarding the people who believe he is low man on the totem pole, you are mistaken. Although I am friendly with a couple guys up for selection, I can honestly say that whether gambling or a tournament, I would gladly back Jeremy playing even 9 or 10-ball against any of them besides Shane and maybe Corey. And he is capable of beating them as well! All of these players know how well he plays. Going back to what I said earlier, please do not let this weekends performance influence your opinion on Jeremy's game. And regarding his set against Travis, many know how well Travis plays. He is really solid. So what does that say about Jeremy where even when he wasn't playing his best he still found a way to grind it out and win that set. That's what we need on the cup. We will be lucky to have him represent us. He is the ideal role model for all up and coming as well as aspiring young players.
Thanks,
Phil
