US Open Talk

Schmidt looks like someone who hasn't played a lot of competitive pool lately which he hasn't. Just looks kinda tight.

Yeah, this match is pretty awful. Klatt has scratched on four breaks and dogged a few easy shots, and might win this yet, but if Schmidt completes the comeback, Klatt will be a deserving loser. Worst match of the day on the stream table.

Question

I am going to run down to the US Open for two days as an spectator. Do I even bother to bring my cue? I can't hold a candle to these guys.

You should bring it so, if you're in the mood, you can stop in at Q Masters to shoot a few racks.

from the results of the 1st round, I see that Efren and Parica are up on the next round. for most Filipinos, this has been a never-ending rivalry that started about 30 years ago.

Come Friday, they'll both be Hall of Famers.

The fact that Pinegar ran a 4 pack on the tv table with the way it has been breaking is quite an accomplishment. My other observation definitely not a good day in the Accu-Stats arena for Mosconi Cup hopefuls. Sigh.

Shane, Sossei, Bergman, Deuel and Hall are through to round 2 of the winner's bracket. Schmidt played poorly, and Oscar's play probably rates as just passable. Actually, although he lost, Shuff showed fairly good form.

It was a very good day for the Justins. Justin Bergman, whom I believe to be the second best player of the "Mosconi 8", put up an 11-0 win and Justin Hall beat a strong player in Al-Howri.

Tomorrow is another day.

Who did alex play? I can hardly browse the bracket on my phone at work.

I see Rodney, shuff and a few u.s big names lost.

That's good to hear. I agree that Bergman is likely the 2nd best player of the 8 at the present time.

I think it's kind of crappy that they're putting Skyler Woodward, his very first U.S. Open tournament, a high-profile even of this caliber, on the TV table with Alex.

The match of the century is tonight on the TV table, though. Efren v. Jose. Oh, my! :)
