How many games could you win?

You are playing an SVB or Appelton caliber player a race to 100. No spot. How many games do you think you could get to? What game? Table size?

If getting the break is not considered a spot. I would guess that I might get to 10 games playing 8-ball on a valley table with new cloth and balls. 5 games with alternating break. 2 games with winner breaks.

I'll take 44 on the wire from Shane and 40 from Daz. 10 ball on a standard gold crown.

So 56 and 60. Hope my line is ok:eek:

I'd stand a chance at taking 60 games. I'd have to play well throughout and it would probably have to be 10 ball on a 10ft or bigger table. 8 ball on a barbox and I couldn't compete, I mean, not even have any chance of getting past 30 against Shane. The massive packages he cam throw together at the drop of a hat in this format would destroy me mentally for life I think.

On a BB it would depend on how many times they broke dry or scratched. Most players I play against you lose anytime you break dry or foul when you can see the lowest numbered ball. On a big table I wouldn't even try it. I guess on the BB with an 80 game spot I would have to try it

Lol a whole lot of the posters so far must be A ranked players or realllly full of themselves.

Alternate break 9 ball I might get to 10 games. :) I'm figuring 5 wins on the break, 3 times I get lucky with an early combo, and twice that I have a nice layout and actually run out. :)

The issue would be overcoming ones own psychological limitations in this kind of situation. Knowing how utterly crushing their game is, and still trying to 'win' in the face of such adversity, requires a certain mental state that few can attain to. Even when they dry break, or miss (ha ha) you have to step up and execute knowing they are watching you and seeing every little mistake you make (are they laughing at me?)

It would be fun to try however, especially on a 9 foot table.

Must be some strong players here! I figured the standard response would be 10-15 games. I give myself 20 games bb 8 ball alternate breaks (if my nerves don't kill me). Now if I play more than league one night a week and had a practice table I think the number would shoot up, however, unless I find I have a gear like them, I still lose😳

I would think that I could get somewhere in the range of 35-40 playing 9/10 ball on a 9ft 4.5 inch table.. diamond or gold crown.

It all depends on how well they are playing. If they make more mistakes than usual, then I can see myself getting to 10 in winner breaks and maybe 20-25 in alternate breaks.

But then you also have to factor in the bet size. It wouldn't be cheap, and no one is dumb enough to back me against them, so I'd be putting up my own money. In which case, 5 games.

Good possibility, but I'd bet on getting 80 on the BB playing rotation games and maybe 70 playing 8ball. Alternating break I'll just have to get busted

Edit to add. This is me getting spotted 80 games not me getting to 80

i don't think that would be a good idea "putting up your own money" against SVB haha ...ijs. i think everyone on this board would end up just being a spectator and wonder how many racks SVB or appleton will put together lol

i'd probably have to give both of them at least the 7 on my home table for them to even get past 50 games
