Hager extensions are great with all of their netting inside, however, they are not real easy to find and when you do, typically, they are expensive (over $50) due to short supply and demand.
I had a Hager and to be honest, while it did the job and never put my cue butt in and danger of damage, I found it to be too large in the hand, like you were holding a vacuum cleaner wand.
I bought a Tony Ryan and it's been perfect. The feel, look, quality and performance are all excellent.
I read where a couple of guys had problems with the Tony Ryan where the material that is inside to protect the cue has come loose and needed a reglue but mine has never had this problem.
I'm sure there's others out there that do a good job but I'm sold on the Ryan.
best,
