please don't laugh or point fingers, i did this for me, just thought i would share.

the rack, has turnbuckle adjustments, and can be adjusted to fit almost any table. and if you get the center mark on the diamond on your table its just about fool proof. i spent couple hrs adjusting it and measuring racks i racked and measured about 25 racks and can constantly get the rack within 1 mm.

there are couple drawbacks, to begin with i spent 175.00 building this one and it weights 5 lbs. i am afraid it it were ever dropped on the table it would cut the cloth and might chip the slate.

i only use this monster when i am practicing one pocket. now if i break like crap i cannot blame the BAD rack.

Not laughing or pointing fingers at all... Think it's pretty cool and industrious that you took the time to do this.....
 
How do the robo arms do in getting all the balls to touch with no gaps? I have idly wondered about getting a tight rack, but other than fooling with templates, Delta, and Sardo Rack never gone further than that. I did get a new set of balls which helped a bunch.
 
It doesn't disturb the last row of balls when you remove the rack?

It would seem like it would have to if it is tight up against both the last row of balls and the cushion.

yes, it has to be removed very carefully or it will move the back row, i have an easy fix, would have to add one more piece, remember this is a prototype and stll needs to have minor adjustments made to the design.

Maybe if you spring-loaded the primary bar (touching the back row) so you could just squeeze it toward the cushion and away from the back row. You'd only need to make the "squeeze" distance about 1/2".

I'd like to take about a room of guys that are some of the best jig and fixture riggers, lock them in a tool room for a few days....the stuff made in those few days... There's no doubt it would change the world..

You could probably add springs so you can back it away from the balls before lifting and it should solve the problem.
