Who Should Get A "Pro Player" Banner?

It's obvious that what is consider a pro in this discussion has to do with money earned in tourneys and not skill.

There are players on this forum that have pro level skills that for one reason or another have no interest in doing pro pool in its current state.

Honestly, if you were making a living at pro pool, but not longer do so, you are a ex pro , not a pro.

Seems money has priority over skill.

Elitist worship is strong on this forum.

I once posted a grainy video on youtube, have won $10 in a bar game and put a ferrule on a spare cue using a hand drill based lathe.

I now demand the following: "Instructor Banner", "Pro Player Banner" and "Cue Maker Banner"

Instead of just bickering saying who should and who should not be on the list, maybe we should check with Mike H what his thoughts are since he is the one who will make it happen?

I am just curious if Incredible Hulk is a member would admin automatically give him his own Banner ?

Allen didn't hesitate "hey Joe, how's the golf game these days?"

ok, ok (joe pesci)....yall are both pros, with shaved heads - i get it.

i think yáll both need to be temporarily stripped of your "pro" status(es) - then i could call yáll "ässes".

;)

Speaking of Joe Pesci.....

It was 1994, and a few Pro Players were in Las Vegas playing at the Mirage in a tournament called 'Challenge of Champions' - we had a day off and Bobby Baldwin (Pro Poker player and then President of the Mirage Casino) invited 4 of us to play Steve Wynn's private golf course called 'SHADOW Creek'. *

This is a 60 million dollar golf course with trees, grass and sand from different countries on every hole. He only allowed (at the time) 4-6 groups to play on any given day. It was free to play and you were not allowed to tip Steve's employees (he paid them handsomely, and it would have been an insult to tip them).

After the round we were sitting in the clubhouse and in walks Joe Pesci. I didn't know what to say, however, Allen didn't hesitate "hey Joe, how's the golf game these days?"

Joe looked quickly at Allen and said "Allen Hopkins, it's been a long time, did you get lost, there's no pool tables around here!" both smiled in acknowledgment and Joe came right over and sat down with us.

Allen introduced us and we sat and talked for about 45 minutes, and what a serene moment, Joe was just a "normal," yet humerus fella, who would know he was a Hollywood star. Allen and Joe traded stories about the pool room in New Jersey they both hung out at a few years earlier.

After Joe said his "good by's", Allen and I headed out to the waiting Limo. On the way to the front, in the lounge, we saw one of the most beautiful women we had ever seen.....waiting on Joe Pecsci.

Come to find out they were both there working on a movie called 'CASINO'. Rumor has it, the the movie did pretty well at the box office.

Every hole at Shadow Creek could make a signature statement at most golf courses throughout the world. Sparkling creeks, towering waterfalls and lush gardens are framed by commanding mountains. Shadows slide across dramatic landscapes, changing shape and contour from dawn to dusk.

Walk with us now along those manicured fairways. Catch a glimpse of perfect greens, guarded by crystal blue water. Imagine how it must feel to be there. Then, when you’re ready, play Shadow Creek. There is nothing quite like it on earth.

If you have won a championship....it's forever.

Audie Murhy didn't have to keep his Medal of Honor current....
...he's long gone, but still highly decorated.

what about Trigger? she posts here sometimes.
and yes, Fran should be noted as pro.

CJ - totally cool story!

Did he making a living getting awarded Medal of Honors?

Winning a championship is a grand thing.

Do you consider Joe Montana a pro football player still?

Nope....ex pro football player.

Which posters should be identified with the black, "Pro Player" banner under their avatar?

Best,
Mike

I think that anyone who wants a "pro-player" banner should meet several requirements.

1. Post at least 7-10 inane threads per week that only the true sycophants will respond to.

2. Bump all of those threads and others you're interested in (two-foul 9 ball for example) at least 20-30 times per day.

3. Act as if you don't have a clue in the world why young people could read your threads and posts and not want to be a poolplayer.

That's about it.

Melinda comes over to the Volcano's tournament once in a while. She can any banner she chooses, "SUPER PRO" would be okay with me. ;) Fran is also very qualified.

Speaking of Volcano's, it's that time, I'll check ya all out in the morning.

Play well, and allow the Game flow through your mind like honey off the comb.

Actually CJ. My late Father kept Honey Bees for years.

Honey won't flow from the comb unless you use an Extractor. Which makes the Honey flow from the centrifugal force.

Then you have to strain the wax and Bee Parts from the Honey with fine cheese cloth.
That was Mom's job. My job was to try and keep from getting my butt stung 40 times a day. My Father loved the little buggers more than I did and never wore a veil or gloves. Dad never pulled the stingers out and waited until he came in and Mom had to give him a once over.

I just never learned to not stand in front of a Hive and stay outta their way when coming in with a load. The Guard Bees and myself had this war going on.

Did you know that Honey is one of our foods that will keep indefinitely. Soy Sauce is another.
