It's 2-1

Alex is up 2-1.

Shane tried to break out the 4 from the nine and barely separated them. He tried to lock up on it and failed.

Alex safetied him and he kicked and hit it. Alex made it and ran out to take the lead to 3-1.

Alex makes two on the break.

Alex gets a great spread, a straight shot on the two and an open table. I don't see this not becoming a bnr.

He does.

Alex 4-1.

Alex breaks...

Makes the one and may finally may have to let Shane come to the table.

Alex elects to push. and leaves Shane open on the two.

Shane takes a flyer and makes the 3.

He has a long table cut on the two and hits it bad kicking the two away accidentally. Alex has to play a combo, a tough back cut or a safe.

He plays the two 5 combo and makes them both.

He doesn't have the easiest shot on the 4 but manages to cut it up into the corner.
he finishes the runout and gets within two games of the match.

Alex breaks...

Shane is seething in his chair and you can see the muscles of his jaw clenching.

He dry breaks but leaves Shane hooked behind the 3-4.

Shane is forced to pushout.

Alex plays a safe on the one even with an open shot and it works out for him.

This looks exactly like the opposite of the match between these two in tenball on the bigfoot. Alex appears to be getting his revenge.

Looks like Alex should get out here since the table is mostly open now.

He does get out to get up 8-1 and is on the hill.

This match is going so quickly...

It's almost not even worth making this thread, this match is going so fast.

It would be a hell of a thing to see Shane come back here, and with a dry break this may be Shane's last chance.

Shane makes a bank on the one to start off the rack and leaves himself a semi tough shot on the two.

He cinches the two and runs into the 3 and elects to play safe. Alex hits the 3 but leaves an open shot.

Shane jaws the 3 while stretching over the table but leaves the cue kind of behind the four. Alex hits the 3 but doesn't make it.

Shane makes the three and accidentally hits the 5 messing up shape on the 4.

He plays a carom on the seven but hooks himself on the 4 behind the 9.

he kicks the 4 and leaves an open shot.

Alex runs it out to win the set. Both players are still in it with one loss each..

Alex ended that set with a .986 tpa...

Something is clicking right with Alex and the TV table. I've watched him on several other tables and although he still has been playing great, he has stumbled on the other non-TV tables.

Thanx, Jaden.
A .986 means there is no shame for Shane losing....
...same for Alex losing to Shane's .957.

Still a lot of great matches to be seen from these two....
....and they like and respect each other.

I would always pay to watch an action match between Alex/Shane. Shane is a small favorite in 10 ball, but in every other game I'll take Alex. 8 ball might be a toss up. Johnnyt

I believe that a player of his caliber might only be able to reach to gear in the most important matches. I think about all the times he has won, does he even care half as much in an early round, vs. the latter stages?
