I don't believe Dick is interested in peddling any books or DVDs or bragging or beat list. Fats and Freddy were entertaining but neither were top players who could be SJD. As Mataya says in this video link, trophies don't spend! haha

Lenny, c'mon, you're better than this. I didn't knock anyone and I give SJD his props as player, he was a player just like Artie was a player. Why don't you tell SJD to stop knocking Artie and his game ? I'll wait for all those that ever beat Artie in 1Pckt to show up here and tell their tale... it will be a very small list, if there is even such a list.
I was only a teenager when I saw Artie play, and I still don't consider myself a gambler. Yes, I gamble, but not unless I have the best of it, pool, sports, whatever. Artie was a lock, and I made thousands of dollars as a teenager betting on Artie. Heck, my old man would have beat me if I didn't bet on him

Between Arties wins and me booking some of the horse players that would send me to the track to place their wagers, I did OK for someone who didn't gamble
Yes, Freddy was a top banker, nobody disputes that. NOBODY other than some west coast guys who like to argue. Why should he not sell his books and DVD just like Frost or other guys. Nothing but great feedback for his DVD's on banking, especially the "banks that don't go, but do" series, very well received.
Billy's trophies didn't spend, he collected checks for his time in the 3C world, with some records that may never be broken. Heck, I didn't even know Billy was the reigning 3C Chicago champs for 7 years in a row back in the 70's, cause I only saw him play 9 ball...
SJD left the pool world, and it seems like it bothers him that others did not. Billy, Freddy and for the most part Artie never did. They never did the 9-5 thing and never will. Artie left pool only because he figured out how to make MUCH more money in Vegas betting in the casino's sports books.
Artie's life would make a great book/movie, and his system was genius in sports betting, to say the least. The casino's didn't like getting beat for MILLIONS and put a stop to that and had to play hard ball to stop it. He gives most every gambler on the planet the Orange Crush who won the MOST money gambling ALL time. There is NO disputing that one, none. My only regret was NOT going out to work for him when he went to Vegas, I went to college instead, but heck, I could have paid cash at UNLV if I did
