Latest Fields Case off the bench

Latest one off the bench. I got a piece of some really good quality ostrich print, and thought it would make a pretty case.
2x4 with strap and pad, 16" pocket with velvet lined jump cue compartment. Im changing over to this style pockets with the main zipper on the front. It loses a little of that perfect "box" shape, but the access to the pocket is way improved over the side opening zippers.

That case looks awesome Chuck, hard to beat
that color scheme in my opinion. If it were mine,
the only thing I would add is the smaller pocket
above the larger one. It's still an awesome case,
though, none the less. I like what you've done
with the zipper, by the way.

Top notch! I agree with statements about the awesome color combo, as well as zipper relocation. I'd love to own that case.
Here's a quick thought, black nylon zippers. They'll hide better, and they won't scratch up jump cue butts/handles.

Thanks! Like I was saying, Im pretty much convinced this is the way to go for the zippers going forward. I did the side opening zippers for a while, and it gives the pocket a little crisper look (the zipper channel in the front causes some sagging).... it is so much easier to get into. Im a big guy with big hands and even I can get into the front zipper a lot easier.

Thanks! Ive thought about that, but to be honest I dont trust nylon zippers longevity, and my philosophy on case building is durability and function first, so I would have a hard time sewing in a zipper that will fail more often than a #5 brass zipper meant for winter jackets ;) .Replacing a pocket zipper on an already assembled case is a hand sewing repair, and from years of bad choices my hands are a mess, so I avoid hand sewing if I can. If anybody has any concerns, I can also just make them a velvet "sock" to further prevent rubbing/scratching.

This one is headed out to Hawaii in the morning, and as corny as it sounds, I still get excited sending my cases to places I havent before.
