A Good Taper Set Up

I am ready for a piece of equipment just for tapering.
Cnc would be the best
Full size lathe just for tapers probably second best
not to sure of the small lathe rails. I didn't have any luck before with this.

Can I get some advise?

Not looking to blow the bank, but got enough I think I can do something pretty decent.

I have build more than 100 cues on a Hightower lathe with taper bars....... seems to work just fine......... what reservations do you have???

This is the setup Todd offers. It is prolly the best 'bang-for-the-buck' in CNC

On his site there is:

1. pics of the machine.

You write a program in g code telling it what to do. Example: If your tapering a 29 inch shaft at the end of the 29 inch taper it will back it self off the piece and automatically return to zero where it started from, Todd provides the programs and there not that hard to write or to customize to what you want to accomplish.
