Video evidence that Cyclop is garbage

I'll put this up, I won't act like a child and stoop to calling people names.

lol, man, you can't even keep the facts straight about what you've said in this thread:

LOU the CSI shill... Lou you're like a puppy that follows CSI around wagging it's tail...

Go find your ball, puppy dog...I see TROLL LOU says...

The TROLL who used to work spinning (lying) for the Gov.

...Lou (the troll), try to keep up.

Spin away troll.

You have not only "stooped" and acted "like a child" you have done it many, many times.

I agree, if presented the choice of playing with Cyclop balls every time, or stop playing pool forever, I'd have plenty of time for golf and snooker. ;) 'The Game is the Teacher'

I must say, that I'm a bit shocked by this post. It seems like something you might regret at some time in the future.

Of course, I don't know how many times you've payed with cyclops balls, but I do know how many times I have. I actually was able to try them several years ago at the BCA trade show, and I've used them several times since then. I find them to play very well. They reminded me of the old Centennial balls of years ago. The cue ball is actually the same weight as the objects balls, and that's how I've always thought it should be. The balls seem a little harder, so they cut cleaner. There's less friction between them at the point of contact. They just seem to play more "true" to me.

If I'm not mistaken, CSI has already recognized that there have been some cue ball issues, and have offered to resolve them. What else should be expected?

I was referring to my interaction with Mark when making that statement, whom I
had respect for even when not agreeing with his opinion on something, prior to today.

You lou are on a whole different level, you show lack of respect for people at a level
matched by few, so no, don't expect what you don't give.

None of this misdirection you typically throw out here on AZ will deter me from stating
what I believe to be true about the quality or should I say poor quality of the Cyclop balls.

So feel free to continue to follow me around when I post with your smoke and mirrors

Here's what you said:

"I'll put this up, I won't act like a child and stoop to calling people names."

There were no disclaimers, no fine print, no conditions.

This is my opinion, I have no vested interest in Cyclop or any other brand

What's so shocking, that I have the same opinion as countless other top pros?

I wish they did play and look like Centennials, however, they don't.

The colors alone make me not want to use them.....ever!!!......it would be like making the pro golfers use a pink golf ball....some things, like the color of pool balls should be a traditional color. imo

This is my opinion, I have no vested interest in Cyclop or any other brand of pool balls. I do know what I like and what I don't, and these balls fall into the latter category.

So have you ever played with them? You didn't really clarify that.

Is it just the colors? You do know that they also offer a traditional color set as well, don't you? Will you boycott those as well?

Have you ever stopped to think that maybe some of those "other top pros" may have another agenda?

I really think all this is just ridiculous. CSI has done more to promote Pro Pool than just about any other organization or person. They stand behind everything they do. Are you familiar with Qlympics? I don't recall seeing you there? CSI took a shot at something new. It was a great idea. A huge all 9' table event. Very few players showed up. Even though it was very expensive to put on, CSI payed all promised pro prize funds. I don't know of any other promoter who could have done that much less would have. Do you remember the event several years ago in Arizona? You know, the one where the top 12 or so players got stiffed by the promoter? It wasn't a CSI or Mark Griffin event, but Mark Griffin came in and paid off the other promoters debt to the players! I was there when they did it!

I'm sure that there are some problem cyclop balls out there. That doesn't mean that they all have problems. By the posts of many who have them and haven't experienced any problems, I'd have to say that's a pretty safe bet. This is not uncommon in new product development. The right thing to do is to find the cause of the problem, and correct it, and that is what they are doing. It's called customer service, and they're good at it.

As for my questions on your comments. I just thought you might be painting yourself into a corner. If they do work out the problems, and I think they will, then the cyclop balls could flourish. If that happens, you may not have as many choices of pro events to play in.

Royce

I too have stayed out of this but this is what I've been thinking.

CSI and Diamond and Cyclop are all related if not partly owned by some of the same people or person and I cant help but to have lost trust in all of the above after the last year or more after numerous events.

As for this particular situation... I am almost certain that the balls were known to be defective at the first event Cyclop were used in... the bcapl nationals I believe. They decided to go ahaed and use the balls as previously announced but they also decided not to use the cueball. I think I know why. What did they do with these sets though after the tournament? Did they sell them afterwards? Were they sold as defective sets? With my loss of trust I doubt it... but if you have info to clear up my thinking feel free to share.

Satori

I don't know of any ownership relationship between Mark Griffin, CSI, or Diamond tables and Cyclop balls. I see the move to the cyclop balls as a customer who was not happy with the business he was doing at the time, and looked for an alternative. When there is no competition for a particular company or product, it's bad for the consumer. Competition is good for the consumer. Before Cyclop, there wasn't really any competition in the pool ball world.

I have personally witnessed one cue ball that rolled off. It was last year, and at least 4 years after I first played with them. Also, this was the second year the balls were used at the BCAPL. I hadn't seen any issues before that, and have not seen any issues since. Others have posted that they've used them recently as well, and have not found any issues.

There are some who see one problem and condemn them all. That's just not logical.

Whatever issues they have will be corrected if they haven't already.

As I said, I think all this is pretty ridiculous. If you have a bad ball, send it back and get a replacement. No product is perfect all the time. Standing behind them is what matters.

Countless other top pros?! (BTW, didn't know you were still a "top pro.")

How about rattling off a few of those.

Then QC will continue to suffer, Chinese manufacturers don't see quality the same way as other countries do and low price is always their top concern.

Not necessarily.

I compete with China everyday, and they can make quality products. Often, the cost is as much or even higher than US made products, but they can make good quality products.
