Pictures of World Caliber Players When They Were Young

Great photos everyone! Here's a couple of press photos of Jean Balukas from the early 70s that were framed by me. The one at the foot of the stairs was taken when she was going to school, which is my favorite:

This thread is going really great, showing some great pictures from the "early years"......
Pictures rarely seen by all of us.

We need more! If you have some, please take the time to post....

Here is the only known photograph of Mary Louise Sharnholtzer, women's world three-cushion champion, 1883 thru 1887.
It's the only known photograph of her because cameras were so fragile in those days that they would usually shatter when she came into focus.
Big Lou, or sometimes Ugly Mary, as she was affectionately called, could nurse a shot with the best of them, male or female.
Tragically, Mary Louise was killed in the prime of her billiard playing career when she was struck by an out of control horse drawn fire engine, responding to a three alarm fire.
Her blood stained cue can be seen today in the Three Cushion Hall of Fame, in Albany, New York.

Kim Davenport, Joe Salazar, CJ Wiley.....

That's Terry Stonier in the middle between Kim and Joe. He owned the Jointed Cue in Sacramento and was the biggest pool promoter on the West Coast for many years. He loved the pool players, just like Chuck Markulis.

Thanks Jay! By the way, let's see an early picture of you!
Maybe with hair that matches Billy Incardona in the picture a few posts earlier?

C.J......thanks for the pictures!

And wow, that sure is Jack Cooney, before the glasses! Heck, I like the car he's sitting in!

Thanks in advance, for more....
