U.S Open Escrowed by Accu-Stats

i listened to the comments barry made about posters here. tell him to come here himself and then call the posters retards. very classless in my opinion.
Could not be the 2.5 cocktail a day habit talking huh? That's classic AA denial.

You might want to listen to ABR ( American Billiard Radio )
Here -----> www.americanbilliardradio.com

I don't want to spoil the surprise, so just listen starting about the 55:00 minute mark.
ENJOY !!! :D :D :D

Thanks, itsfroze, in particular for the heads up on where to start listening. Although I did start at the beginning I quickly became hit with a sense of déjà vu so it was great I could skip to the good stuff.

Barry’s reaction to the comment from Nick B in respect of the length of the national anthem is becoming typical of how he responds to everything; he rejected it indicating that some fool didn’t like the national anthem and then said that the fool claimed it was 15 minutes long. He ended by saying the fool was also unpatriotic. Barry, Nick said it was a 30 minute rendition not 15 minutes.

For a moment, I thought he might also have been referring to me until he said that the fool did not like the national anthem and was unpatriotic. The first line in my post was clear; I like the anthem. He seems to have either missed the part that it is his incessant, unnecessary drivel during this part of the event that detracts from what would otherwise be a nice touch. To clarify, Barry it is your verbal diarrhea that makes it seem long.

That said, I will admit to being a fool for paying money every year to an organization whose chief executive treats all fans like fools. I do, however, feel less a fool than those who paid for VIP seats last year. I will also be a fool again this year as I will be supporting the PPV. Accu-Stats are a first class organization, have great production values and the PPV should be supported. I will, of course, feel superior to the VIP fools again.

Barry was right in that I let my distaste for his antics colour my opinion of the artist performing the anthem. After my original post I felt bad that I had brought singer of the anthem into the conversation. I asked myself whether my judgement of her performance was influenced by my being annoyed at the antics of Barry in terms of his introduction. I went to the internet and viewed several of her videos. She is much easier to take without Barry hanging on her. She has a very good “star presence” and I predict that if she does not make it as a vocalist (I still have problems in respect of tone that will hopefully lessen as she matures and works with a vocal coach) she will be a songwriter to be reckoned with. I doubt that she reads AZ but, if on the off chance she does, then I offer, Ms. Springsteen, my sincere apology for unnecessarily bringing her into this conversation; I was unkind to do so. I wish her success.

PS. Barry has indicated that he has read each of the eight pages and will 'fire back', responding to each comment. Speaking for myself it will be welcome. I would ask you to give serious thought to reducing your time on the microphone or to have someone with better MC skills (Ken, Scott) handle it all. Barry, let this statement be the first you fire back at.

PPS. Barry, I changed my avatar so you can see that my nature is to be supportive of the artist. I will be changing it back later as my old avatar is better looking (and endowed)

I'm sorry. But only for a little while. Retards!
Doesn't bother me. I fit in quite well.

How many players from other countries do you think will enter this year? By now all out of country players, their orgs and stake horses know that if money is short they are the first to not get paid. Johnnyt

Guess you'll have to wait and see Johnny Boy. As far as I am concerned, which isn't a whole bunch, Barry did irreparable damage over the years. Yet, players still show.

Now that the Open has been Rescued, I believe that will ease many out of country players minds, whereas after last year, I doubt many, if any would have shown.

Every year some outside entity rescues the open from Barry and his bu!!$#!% & yet every year he finds a way to....... well you know.

EL NINO & NOSTROKE are welcomed to my 6 replacement 2014 VIP free seats that Barry promised me a month ago.

Last time the money was put into escrow, Barry threatened them to give the money back. Hope Pat Fleming isn't put into the same disturbing situation.

At least he tried to make it up to you.... I never got that. I really am very upset about the whole thing, I love pro pool & the US Open but Barry has just made it :mad::mad: Last year was my 17th and final. I will miss it

Guaranteed of payment ??? by Pat Flemming? 100% ?

Guaranteed of payment ??? by Pat Flemming? 100% ?
Is that a new promise?
Was this escrow in the past?
Where is the difference now?
Let see if there is a guaranteed 100 %
Just saying because I have seen before too much before and really do not feel different now. But if is buyer beware then is different!!!!

Time will tell I say!!

If the money total is correct and the 75K is there by 7/23

I have no doubt of Pat Fleming's integrity and intention; of course he cannot guarantee full payment if all the money is not there, at the time it's supposed to be there.

WHERE is that said??????

http://www.azbilliards.com/news/sto...man-announces-pat-fleming-escrow-for-us-open/

Ok, I embellished some, but not by much....

" A total of 300 VIP seats as well as around 600 general admission seats will be needed now that we will be in Downtown Norfolk’s Financial District. The 3 rows on both sides of the T.V. arena table will be; 1st row floor level, 2nd row 16 inches higher on a platform, and the 3rd and final row will now be only 32 inches high on a platform. So when you add a chair and a body on the 3rd row, both sides are much lower. Now having 4 long rows one on each side with the platform being 56 inches high, 2nd row platform is 72 inches up, 3rd row platform will be 88 inches high, and the 4th and final row platform will be 104 inches, 8 ½ feet, high. This will clear the way for all to have a wonderful view of the entire ballroom along with a 4 foot wide walk way around the backside entrance to where you wish to sit. My architect has assured me there will not be a remote possibility of the same problem we had last year, none whatsoever."

you notice that i said "promised"?
"saying", and "doing", are two different things. ;)

and as i recall, Barry stated that they would refund anyone who got screwed from last year's VIP tickets. has anyone received their money? and if not, do these claims come off the top for Pat to reimburse?

agreed. i've met Pat & he has my utmost respect to be tackling this job for Barry & i don't doubt in the least that everything will be kosher; same as if Jay Helfert had been in his place.

but according to the press release, the terms are IF the $$,$$$ is in place by JUL 23.... which i interpret as: otherwise - no deal. (there's his "öut".)

Pat will be responsible for receiving $75K from this mysterious "locked-down" money, to get accreditation from WPA. then he will be responsible for receiving & documenting 128 entry fees (assuming payments are in full & not partial). then if the entry is reduced again like last year, he's responsible for 128 refunds. and finally, he needs to issue 48 payments & reconcile the acct. i have no idea if he's responsible for the 1099s.

it's no small job, but it can be done. the problem(s) would be the outside issues. EX: prepaying the venue @ 30days; previous refund claims for VIP tickets; current claims for VIP tickets; last minute player signups/cancellations, changing the payout; and if SVB hasn't been paid for the past 1, 2, 3 Opens & files....then by law it comes off the top.

Pat needs to be compensated well for this, and hire a firm so he isn't even bothered & his name isn't on it.

I don't understand pinklady why the mention of the venue expenses, vip refunds, etc.

The press release was very clear that Pat is handling the player prize fund. Pat's language was very direct and specifically targeted towards the prize fund.

Barry is sure to mess things up. But the point of Pats involvement is to not shortchange the players. Where the shortage will come this year is anyone's guess.

This is what drives me crazy.... All the talk about the players being screwed, "what are we going to do about the players being screwed" How about the people paying for this shindig???? The (SPECTATORS) They (we) keep getting a raw deal every year with seating nightmares & 45 minute drunkin speaches before each match. Without people in the bleachers there is no US Open.
