I just want to bet $50....your boy Barry is doing the 'I don't really want to bet so I'll state I will only bet if we bet super high' and hope no one calls his bluff routine. This is not a new m.o. used in the pool rooms.

Let's bet $50 - if he will take 'all bets'. I will mail a $50 signed bill to Jay Helfert as soon as Barry stops dancing and simply agrees. He can do the same. Hopefully his $50 doesn't get lost in the mail.

If Barry wins, I hope he sends my $50 to Quan cause he said in one of his messages that he was going to make up his 5 month stall in paying Quan by 'taking care of him' but Quan side never posted that they received anything beyond the money owed.

I know I may be fooling myself but here is to hoping for the best US Open ever... I know the history says Barry will manage to mess the seating up or something else but where else will you reallly realllly want to be in October when it's going on.......

i love you Chris Honey, but you might want to run terms @ Net 10, and preferably paid directly to the Sheraton, since their terms are 30days prepaid & Pat's not responsible for that. there is a reason why Barry will never be allowed back @ the Marriott. CYA.

Barry will not ever be allowed back at the Marriott? I don't read every thread can you let me know something about this?

Here is the rub. There is always a shortfall on the money, we all know that. Is the shortfall because Barry has to pay for the seating? The hotel? WPA fees? among other things. If he has been taking the money to pay "Vendors" That money is still a part of the whole deal. So lets say that Barry somehow comes with the $75k. Pat F is satisfied and has control of the money So all is accounted for. BUT! What if Barry now does not have the money for the hotel? The space? These people are not going to dick around with Barry and his BS. They will just say Sorry you didn't come through and now Barry will have to get new plans for the venue. This has to affect the players and fans attending. So to kind of echo your words Accu stats having all the entries and Barry's $75k is not the end of BB's problems and needs to come with way more that just the $75k. Fingers are crossed.

There is no rub.....

Barry should be a good enough businessman to get the space for free. 900 spectators. 128 players. Bring 1000 people to a hotel and if you have any know how, the rest is a done deal. Hell, he could probably get paid to bring that many people to a hotel. If he isn't a good enough businessman for that, well.....Watchez is the Teacher but that will cost him more than the $50 he is gonna owe me if he ever confirms our bet.

it was Barry's 1st or 2nd ABR interview back in JAN when he hadn't paid Quan Do, Orcullo, all foreign players, et al. he blasphemed the Marriott - blaming all fiascos (VIP seating) on them. it's untrue. and he will never be allowed back in their facility.

to his credit, he declared that he would never grace their door with his Open presence, either.

it's great that Pat's got the players covered. but if Barry's on prepay w/ all of his vendors, and his suppliers are demanding Net 10 (due to his reputation), then where is the additional money coming from to get this shin-dig started?

the Sheraton has an iron-clad contract; probably the same 18 pages of fine print rhetoric that i'm familiar with. and Barry's reputation precedes him, so they are guarded.

his revenue is from ticket sales & vendors (RENFRO & JB CASES) & sponsors prepaying. if no one did that till the last minute, then -

a LOT can happen between now & OCT....

I wish the US Open well and I certainly wish the players well. If this goes off as planned both the reduced field as well as the higher payouts should prove for some great action. I had a great 14 year run of attending this tournament but the last several years have just drained my desire to attend. To those friends that I only get to see at that particular time I really hope our paths cross down the roads and remember you'll always be in my heart.
