How many are using FB groups to sell now instead of AZ for sale subforum?

Seeing that I am usually having to educate people about the types of products we make I have found myself no longer bothering to even bump posts here.. Educating people about chalk, templates and tip differences seems to be deemed selling even when the intent is overall education... I don't care who's products you buy... I want a shot at your business but overall I want to make sure you know what you are buying be it from us or anyone else....

I am just wondering how many more people are using FB now so there can be questions and answers and back and forths?

Anyone thinking this is selling is missing the boat...

I have had several PMs about not being around as much and this is a good part of the why... I may have done a straight up sales threads on Great White when it released in December but that was in response to lots of PMs asking for notifications... As I have told 5-6 people in the last 2 days if you are looking to get a question answered find me on facebook or use Outsville@gmail.com

I would like to see AZ get back to work on sales subforums so they can open up discussions again... maybe Wanted... customs at different price points... production cues... Cases plus jump and break cues.. and an accessories, for everything else, subforum... Would keep things from blowing off page one and would be organized where a person could find what they are looking for or browse based on what they felt like spending...

How many pictures of my work have you seen me post lately? I post on my Facebook page now, because the pictures of my work don't dissappear into the deep blue sea there:grin:

Most of the time I feel like Facebook isn't the greastest. But then I don't have enough posts yet here to reply to a thread in the selling/wanted section here even though I've been a member for 10+ years. So that's frustrating as well. Like I mentioned in your last thread, I didn't see you at sbe even though you were there but I would like to know about your products for sure.

Wish there would be a site like Facebook that has sub areas for different interests. Think the reason I don't use Facebook as much is because it's too cluttered with stuff I'm not concerned or interested in when looking for posts I wanna see and care about.

you will never be able to reply to a thread in the for sale area regardless of you post count or time on the site until they fix it... Only the OP can post to bump it every 2 days..

If I cannot field questions in the FS area and I cannot post educational threads in the main, AZ is losing ground.... which may explain the huge reduction in activity... Coupled with the fact that several bad apples keep coming back with new names and they won't police it????

Jerry may choose to not take breaks with me at the Open this year... But this is what I see... 1st amendment is the pillar of our freedoms but it does not nor should it ever extend to a privately owned forum....

They see their insight numbers.... ban 8 that are troublemakers and watch those numbers climb... moderate accordingly and watch some of the pros and industry members stick toes in......

Otherwise the unique IPs mean less and less because they DO NOT ENGAGE.........

Lol. Shoulda waited a few minutes...

'Course, this forum has not gone to shit because it's being spammed to death by sellers. No, definitely not.

Do people really need educating on chalk, magic racks and tips?

Absolutely... They are spending hard earned money... Without education they could be paying 30 a cube for pioneer chalk just like Kamui....

Regardless of how we have gotten along as adversaries there is science behind the why and difference.... You continue to think I just repackage tips... You actually try and call my tips repackaged elk masters at every chance you get... Look up Fat Liquoring on google.... We start there and 8 processes later we roll out a tip...

As far as our Accu-Rack templates... The difference between us and the others is like owning a pinto and thinking you have the same car as my corvette.. Both are cars but they are not the same....

Just the way it is... there is science and there is hot air... Pick your side....

I haven't even looked at the for sale forum on here in ages. I look at Open Billiards Market on Facebook daily. It's much more convenient being integrated into my Facebook news feed. I've bought and sold a few things on there, and I'm definitely more ready to use that avenue than the forum on here. I feel like the only benefit to buying/selling on AZ over FB is to reach the dinosaur group that deftly refuses to use FB.

I use FB for selling because there is no love here for production cues and that is what I happen to need to sell.

I use both. I like that FB allows discussions and there seems to be a little more activity over there. But I like the iTrader ratings over here. Since both are free it just makes sense to use both. Last few sales be made have come from here, kinda surprisingly.

Every new poster has the same 4 threads. What tip to get, what shaft to get, what cue to get, what chalk to get. Not so much racks since they often don't know enough to even think that there are differences.

I'd say, yes people do, although mostly new players or those new to being educated about billiard sports.

Open billiards market has the great and powerful john bartrum running it. Who will not allow you to say a bad word or call out a salesmen ripping people off but sees fit to ban a case makers items from being sold because he deemed them a bad product. Yeah ..: that's a great place to buy

I don't even look at the for sale items on AZ anymore..

I look at the stuff on Facebook daily,, and have had a great experience buying and selling on the Open Billiards Market

Face Book sites

I'm not on FB but it looks like maybe I should do it. Thought about it for years, just hard to teach an OLD dog new tricks...........

What are the good pool and billiards sites on FB ?

Do I friend them or what do I do ?

Thanks

Since they screwed the f/sale section , I very seldom look at it .

I also find F/book is not full of ass holes .

I had a birthday couple weeks ago , I been on AZ for 8 to 9 yrs now have 400+ positive feed back , a I got 4 Birthday wishes .

I been on F/book 3-4 monthe , and got about a hundred Birthday wishes . Seems like some nice people over there .

When I list J/ps for sale they sell with in the hour , only once was I offered 50% of my asking price , I have never had to drop for a Low Baller .

It is a whole new world , in all the best ways .

I show J/protectors in the Gallery here on AZ , I get 4-500 looks , maybe 2 comments .

I show j/ps on Facebook , I get countless inquiries in PM form , wanting same thing , sometimes with minor changes . NEVER have I been beat up over the price .

Those that hang out here , Good Luck .

He decided not to ban them and yeah, he doesn't allow people to price knock. If someone wants to buy it for the price listed then why should they have someone calling them stupid for paying that price? I've only had good transactions there and here but there is a lot more action there it seems.

Those islanders where Efren came from never needed it. And they continue to play at level above most players worldwide. As long as their cue has a shaped tip, chalk on the table and whether it's hand rack up to magic rack - They just play.

Most of the people I know that are into these gear stuff are B and under. Nothing wrong with that in fact they make the majority of the billiard market.
