How many are using FB groups to sell now instead of AZ for sale subforum?

I don't believe that I am still trying to defend NPR. I pretty much said what I needed to some time back.

Glen, you are the one that accused any of us for destroying this Thread, and AZB for that matter. I only pointed out to you that you were the one that originally Derailed this Thread by mentioning what you did.

I suppose if you consider constant bragging about your ability is bringing anything new into this Thread, that's up to you.

As I mentioned before. You're supposed contributions to this site are only in your imagination. Many members keep this site going. Listening to you, one would believe that you are the Soul Man.

Anyway, I seriously doubt that anything you have to say in regard to how this site should be run would go any further than being flushed down the crapper.

At least sometimes, a person may have the courtesy to look at the dump that they just had before flushing. I don't think Mike or any of the Owners would give you even that when it comes to opinions.

What are you going to be when you get out of the third grade, about 55?

I'm sad that people are migrating to FB because i'll never sign up for it and let them sell my private info to people who'll fill my inbox with garbage.

That being said i'm also sad that every time i see a cue that peeks my interest it has ivory in it and in this day and age i won't risk thousands of dollars on something that might get confiscated during shipping.

I was talking to BHQ the other day. According to him the ivory thing has not been implemented.

First I did not say it was rocket science. Nor did I say it was easy as I told JC.
Now perhaps you are at the top of your craft. Perhaps not.
My only argument is that there are plenty of skilled craftsman out there that have the capability to do what you do. What is also true is that some of what they do is not currently part of your skill set.

Let me ask you this. At your current skill level. Could you replicate this Monarch table exactly without calling on any other craftsman?

As far as NPR goes.
You still have not manned up and explained how NPR is sucking the life out of the site.
Is it perhaps because it isnt and you are in this case the one that has no idea what you are talking about.

I thought perhaps you were getting your research together while exchanging pleasantries. :)

And here you are still debating. How Ironic. :D

Man, you're really lost in space ain't you....what do you think I do, go to people's homes and build them a personal pool table or something? ....YOU really don't have a clue do you!! I'm the one that gets the phone calls from table owners that own tables like the one you pictured, asking me if I can make them play right, because they play like shit compared to today's pool tables!!!

Not clueless at all.
You said you built your own line of tables.
It appears your skill level does have a limit.

Yes they may play like shit compared to todays tables. However during that time period not so.

Now. Based on the Monarch table presented. Who is the more skilled craftsman?
Disregarding the iron base of course. But including the gold filigree.

Or if you like consider if you were to go up against an individual that could build that table from the ground up using modern spec instead of those from the 1800's where would you stand?

Muuuuuuuuum, Glen is being mean to me.

Seriously, I almost wish that were the case, in a twisted way. Then I probably wouldn't have had to worry about working since I was 14.

Damn my Mom and Dad who accidentally taught me how to have a half decent work
ethic.

I'm 57 Glen. With that I skipped a couple of grades and am now in Grade 9.

Pretty cool eh. As a truck Driver most of my life, I did my share of crap on a loading dock.

I was never a Slate Humper tho. What's it like Glen? Does one have to have an education to do that. Is there a school that one can attend.

Well, that all depends....are you judging by looks, or playability? Because they don't go hand in hand buddy, if you know anything, you'd know that one for sure. There's a lot more to a pool table than its looks, if it plays like shit, then in my book....it's nothing more than a polished turd, and if you like polished turds....go for it.

Sure thing buddy, sign up is over there, around the corner, next to the crapper, sign on the door reads....NPR.

Mike, I switched to posting all my work and all the new things I'm doing to pool tables on my Facebook page, BECAUSE of the feed back I get from members here on AZB. Things like.....I'm just patting myself on my back....who cares what you're doing....it's not rocket science.... I know a lot of guys that work on pool tables..."and they're just as good as you are"....what an ego maniac....and all the rest of the BS that comes out of their mouths. Who needs it?

People always thinking they have a right to get into other people's business seems to be the norm here anymore. I like AZB, always have, supported it 100% to the point that I never offered my services to any other websites....and for what? Yes, I still get a lot of requests for my services because of my affiliation with AZB, but I get just as much from Facebook as well.

Yes on Facebook, you pick your friends so you dont get objective opinions.

Yes on Facebook, you pick your friends so you dont get objective opinions.

This probably why I resist going to FaceBook, despite many requests.

"You never learn a thing from some body who agrees with you."

Well, you actually do run the risk of getting objective opinions Stroke. But then, you Delete them promptly because they offended your delicate sensibilities.

So far, as members here have explained as to why they now post at Face Book only, that is the message that they tend to convey. They Moderate their own pages, something that they can't control at AZ. You can be Bruce, or whatever your name is, Almighty. You can be my Friend only as long as I say so.

So what, maybe they are Control Freaks, maybe not. From what a few have mentioned, if they were Moderators on AZ, there wouldn't be many members left.

Obviously, what happened to the Sale Forum is a great example of not being able to make everyone happy. The main complaint was, people over Bumping their sales ads. Now, they can't do that, but people are complaining that they can't make comments on any Sales Ads. If they were able to make comments on sales ads, they would be over Bumping them.

And some complain about NPR. We don't whine about our little niche on the board. They leave the members alone. No Problems.

If you were to compare the number of complaints received from NPR vs the Sales Forum, the numbers might look like, 0 to 40 thousand.

Sure thing buddy, sign up is over there, around the corner, next to the crapper, sign on the door reads....NPR.

And Glen just keeps coming up with the Zingers. Well, the office would probably be more pleasant that your smelly work truck that you live out of. Do you actually change the Pine Tree Air Fresheners once in a while?

Probably just cheaper to put one in your undies once a week.

Don't have Facebook......so the answer is; not me.

I have a shower in my truck...do you?

Matter of fact, I have a 10 cubic ft refrigerator, 55 gals fresh water, 6 gal hot water heater, flat screen tv.....oh wait a minute, what did you say YOUR truck has in it again?;)

Wow, A Real Continental Man.

No, I have a shower in my home Glen. My home doesn't have wheels on it. And my home doesn't generally smell like sweat and gasoline, unless I have been working in the garage.

My 4x4 has an engine in it. Pretty much all I wanted when I bought it. I have a home with all that stuff that you mentioned in it.

No need to duplicate that in a vehicle. If I wanted a vehicle like that, I would have one.

LOL.
That is only true if you have not found the methodology to do so.
By your logic. Pool tables are destined to remain ugly rectangular boxes through out the rest of time.

Somehow I dont find that to be a very plausible position to take.

So is it correct to conclude that you can build a table that plays very well. However your skills and training end where detailed artistic ornamentation begins.
Which there is absolutely nothing wrong with.

However I find interesting that you have difficulty in confirming or denying if your abilities extend to detailed inlay work, carving and ornamentation.
Because it was obvious what I was asking and you proceeded to dodge the question.

Well, seeing how you've never been in my truck, just picture a 24' sleeper, all fixed up nice, and smelling real good when I'm cooking my breakfast in the morning....since you insist on keeping this thread NPR;)

Why do I give a shit about building pool tables that look to meet your approval, better yet, why would I even care about building home style pool tables in the first place? I built pool tables for some pretty interesting customers in the past, like Dave Craig, Kenny Easley, Dave Brown, and Sherman Smith....all Seahawks football players, don't remember one of them asking me to build a piece of shit that LOOKED good, but played like a Valley coin op! That table you posted looks like it belongs in a whorehouse....IMO!
