DIY Idea

Or you can go to home depot and look for bolt covers. Same thing only ¢.25, but if you absolutely have to have a "longoni tip cover" by all means. I remember 1 time I saw someone selling a pack of 2 of these for around $15. I was aghast. :shocked2:
It never ceases to amaze me the crap that people repackage and sell to the pool community at a much higher price.

PS, you can buy the "Longoni" ones in bulk too if you like..... It always cracks me up the amount of trying to screw people over that goes on in the pool world. Several of the liquids etc sold as maintenance products are off the shelf items repackaged at super high markups as well.

I was thinking about a way to keep chalk from sticking to the bottom of my cue case. I prefer putting the tip down first because my logic is gravity wants the chalk to fall down the tube anyways, so I'd rather not have chalk in my threads.

Anyways, here's the idea. Glue, adhere, stick a piece of foam like material to the inside radius of a quarter and drop the quarter down the tube. The weight from the coin lets you remove the setup whenever you please.

If anyone has any better ideas or improvements.

Wipe the chalk off before putting it in your case
An ounce of prevention......

Yup... you want to buy 1000 have at it... Minimum on some of the caps are 600. if you get the ez tabs. you can't buy just what YOU need tho. Now you package them.. lets say you add cool labels to them just because they would look better and be a neat impulse buy... Now you have to ship them.... They won't sell but a few at a time so they are going to eat up shelf space and you have inventory where you could have just kept cash.

There are convenience items and I'd say this would be one... I have no idea how much time and materials go into a pool case but I have to assume there is markup... Dealing with markup of 100s vs dollars or in this case cents...

At 1.50 maybe you make 90 cents.. I doubt anyone orders JUST them. And at flat fee shipping they are just something else to go in the box... I also see them as giveaways..

You will have better chance at vacuum caps at Autozone than bolt caps at Home Depot tho.. If you actually want sizes to fit cues... They do make a 1/2" by 1/2" HoDo carries but it won't work for smaller than 13mm shafts.....

Thats the point Im trying to make, they are readily available to anyone who access to a home improvement store or auto parts store for much less than the repackaged versions. Im not against anyone making a little money, but I have seen 3 packs marked up to $6, thats 25 times the cost of the product, and no retailer puts a 2500% markup on their wares. Thats beyond making a little money, thats stealing from people who dont know any better. Even though $6 isnt a lot of money, its still far beyond reasonable when you know what they are and what they cost. Selling a 2 oz bottle of "shaft cleaner" for 8-10 bucks when you can buy a 32oz bottle at the grocery store in the HBA aisle for 3-5 bucks, same kind of thing.
As far as pricing on my cases, right now I have about $150 materials cost in the cases, then I add on approximately $25/hour as my shop rate. Sometimes this works out right, sometimes because of the time involved on a particular case, I take money off, because it goes beyond what I feel the market can bear, and what I consider to be a fair price.
Hope this makes sense

you can buy tip protectors on ebay for $2.50 each

As mentioned several times, the tip protectors work perfectly, and are exceedingly inexpensive as you mention.

These can be found on eBay, or also on several of the large accessories dealers.

There is a full proof way of not getting chalk dirt or grim inside you pool case .

Don't open your case, don't chalk up, just use house cues :D

Problem solved, and it didn't cost you a dime
