The Hustlers Premieres Friday May 22 at 9/8c on TruTV

I'm afraid guys..

I'm afraid this show will be fake as hell just like operation repo, lizard lick towing, and hardcore pawn..

Don't be surprised to see a flipped over pool table over a 10k game...

That's not gonna happen.

My buddy Frost would need a little weight from the other Frost...how much you may ask?

Knock knock....I don't think so Tim! :D

I believe I got the cash last time me and Scott got down, for the record!

I already see the shit people are posting and it hasn't even come on yet. People are just guessing and it's cool to see which way they are guessing. I predict I'll also turn into another person who doesn't post here at all. I was going to come and offer a little behind the scenes perspective and help clarify some of the controversial things that happen in the episodes but now...the negative people can explain cause they know it all.

I like how JAM especially just tries to degrade people if they don't play pro speed or close to it, or if she don't have a picture with them. Everybody on the show is accomplished in pool in their own way, every single person has regional tour wins and above.

Stop and think for a minute who you might identify with more and want to follow, the person with a 9-5 job that still goes out and plays the game and gets in action and handles themselves in a professional manner that's exactly like you or someone who just plays good but you aren't in their shoes at all.

By the way...if the show is only an hour long, how many misses do you think would actually get shown?

I like Spimp though cause he's just supportive and even if it sucks or is corny at least it was trying. It's better than nothing at all...like what's been going on.

Throughout the years I have done a lot better at condemning anything TV, movie, or even video game related until I watch it (or play it for a video game) with my own eyes. Countless times I have see things get a bad review and then after I watch it I am wondering what that critic was smoking because I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I think these people at the very least giving it a try is 100+ times better than people not giving it a try and just condemning it (not calling anyone out in particular). Damn fking straight I am supportive on things pool related like this regardless of what people say will work or fail before it even happens. Even if the show didn't have a friend of mine in it I would still like to watch it and cross my fingers that it does well for this game I love.

Drops mic... spimp out

I think most of us are hoping for the best for the show good luck to all involved.

You never know about how the final cut of the show will come across even if you
were there as it was being filmed they can make it seem like it is something completely different after all the editing.

Only about a week we will all find out

Hope you don't go anywhere, alot of us will appreciate your input. Haters gonna hate.

Word... 10 times more posts about it being fake or corny or let's blow chalk and shoot jump shots than anything positive. Just shows the general nature of the pool community. Meanwhile all the people involved are approachable good natured individuals. We don't do the editing or determine the promo or anything like that...I'm not even gonna defend it anymore though. It's a losing battle. I just won't say shit and then people can assume or guess all they want. No sweat off my back I got paid already.

How could you not be looking forward to this? It's mainstream exposure to pool in a pretty big way. Everyone should at least be excited for a potential boost to the game.

Hey mikeyfrost - You've got to understand, this is reality TV, which is almost universally seen as just about the lowest form of culture that modern humanity has produced. The mild, bemused skepticism expressed in this thread is about as positive as you could expect, given reality TV's track record of Snookis and Honey Boo Boos.

But Im sure it was a lot of fun to be involved in, and I'd be interested in some of your thoughts about being a part of it.

My buddy is involved So I am in. Rooting for Mikey fo sure

Honestly if this show produced some people to hit Jersey Shore level popularity the pool rooms would be making a bunch more money and this industry would get a shot of adrenaline. Do you think Jersey Shore helped or hurt tourism especially at Seaside Heights? The show has been off for years and that house is still raking in money.

My experience being involved in it was there were some really cool and fun nights and there were sometimes that the best part was leaving for the night. Cameras bring a lot of heat and it's tough to fade. I can talk about everything as it is shown though, but I can't give spoilers that's why I wanted to come on and be available for a couple hours and try to answer questions. I'll be on twitter though so hopefully people come follow me @mikeyfrost609 and ask me questions there. This forum is probably the wrong format to have a Q&A with the viewers plus harder to ignore negativity.

Just remember we are good people with good intentions trying to help the game. That's true of most of us.

Hey dipshit, Don't be ****ing up my thread and don't chase off the talent!!
For your information, crappy programming is subjective to opinion.
You probably enjoy some odd, perverted, obtuse shit but I don't judge.
So why not hope the show has the same global appeal as TruTV's Impractical Jokers.
Do you realize what that would do for pool?
Hell, if pool was as popular as Impractical Jokers, even I could even make a living in the game..

Exactly right! I compare it to other professions and it's a simple notion. Take being an engineer for instance. We all could agree it's a good profession. Anyone know who the best engineer in the US is or world? Now if only pool could get to that, making a ball better than everyone else doesn't mean much if you're looking at the large picture.

Sheesh. Are you paranoid or what? I did not know who the other people were, and Cleary told me on FB they were local players. I figured I would share that info here on AzBilliards with others. I figured if I was not familiar with some of the names that other AzB-ers might not be familiar with the names, either. I never degraded anyone. In fact, I attached the TV show poster on this thread in an effort to share with this pool forum.

I made mention of Jarrod's speed only because I know him from Joss Tour. We all know M.D. as he's in the pool news in recent times. The three females, of course, are known entities. I just did not know the other people. Again, Cleary was kind enough to share with me that they are local to Steinway.

You go on another thread about Hatch and Earl stating they are old, so why would anybody watch their reality show. You got a heck of a lot of nerve, man. I never wrote one untoward word about anyone in this thread. In fact, I posted on Jarrod's FB page that I am looking forward to watching the show.

touchy touchy.

If it was just something weird like bonus ball or had some kind of jersey shore/mtv cast, it wouldn't be my thing. Having good players and people that im aware of is what will be driving me to watch it. I also want to clock speeds so that i know what spots to get for a lock.

I wish only the best & much success to all involved. This is pool, something everyone is supposedly here for & I can't fathom why anybody that loves the game wouldn't support this. The negative comments are just ponderous to me.

Pretty much how I feel. There are plenty of shows in the works right now, this is like a race to be first to market. Ideally yes I would hope the one I'm a part of is the one that takes off but if just one of them does and then the pool rooms get full again it will be well worth it for everyone. I feel like the seasoned people will be able to separate the sugar from the shit.

This is going to be cool! I am looking forward to it. Mikey, I am hoping you hang in here with us and share your incites as the show runs on TV. I for one would enjoy it and appreciate it.

I've got nothing but love for you Mikey & wish you & the show mad success. Anything that moves the game forward & brings it popularity is a good thing & anyone that doesn't see that, well there are none so blind as those that refuse to see. Again I wish you, the rest of the cast, crew & show success.
