first product that might actually help your game??

this thread took all of two minutes to go bad.:thumbup:

Now trinacria, this thing had funny written all over it. Admit it.
And, by-the-way, I've had threads go away faster than this and I'm supposed to be funny.

What do you want us to say? I can explain to you why I don't like it:

1. Don't like to hit pool balls with phenolic tips at all, and certainly not pointed ones.
2. There are millions of ways to learn how to cue straight with a normal cue and tip. Shoot a diagonal follow shot the length of the table. Follow the object ball into the pocket. Do the same with draw. Do the Joe Tucker test where he shoots a ball into the rail, stops the cueball and then has the rebounding object ball kick the cueball straight back.
3. I'm not into gimmicky stuff like that other than for entertainment value. I've had my fill, as will a lot of members on this forum.

If you like the product, have at it, and report back about your findings, but don't get mad if others remain sceptical.

didn't get mad, hence my smily face with the thumbs up. I thought it was funny that the first reply was a joke, and the second reply was a plus one. I learned the hrd way not to get mad at anything related to pool or this forum. I ve tried running racks with a phenolic tip unchalked, its very hard, I think this can be a teaching tool especially for the novice. there's plenty of ways to learn a straight shot, this I would think would help faster. And that bet is still on the table.

If you notice he hits the center ball real easy, but he hits the LITTLE bit off center shot 10 times harder and if you really watch closely...waaaaay off center. There are at least 10 better ways to see if your hitting off center and how to correct it all over the internet for FREE and well proven by some of the best instructor's in the world. Johnnyt

It's like a bullet attached to the end of the cue!

I'd like to see someone break with it and explode the cue ball into a million pieces

Looks like a good product to me. If it helps some people what's the problem with it. Pretty much any and every product that comes along for pool draws instant criticism and sarcasm.
There are many ways to correct a stroke - this could be one more tool in someones arsenal.

It's an interesting enough idea, but kind of redundent: he uses it for the "shoot to a cushion, CB back to the tip" exercise, which already tells you everything you need to know. The product adds sound and feel, but the CB's reaction off the cushion tells all.

One problem I can see right off the bat is that it costs about $89 according to the youtube comments

game

this is new, I think. pretty cool idea. I was going through some videos trying to find some info on a cue and came upon this. anyone ever use it? any thoughts?

also , ill bet a thousand on who can break and run with this.

Cheap mans stroke trainer or hitting center of cue ball is a piece of scotch tape over the tip of your cue.

Mike Massey sales a little clear piece of plastic that fits or the tip of your cue..
Does the same thing as the special cue and tip.
and the scotch tape.

I have the Mike Massey training aid and like it.
It was a gift from Mike Massy < very likable person >

All these training aids should improve your aim.

All replies are valid. Even the sarcastic ones. The only reason I thought this was different, and why I think it's a good training aid out of many good and bad ones is, you have zero error margin. I like it. I won't buy it bc I have a break cue with two shafts, my breaking shaft is an OB. The other is the original shaft that's a little beat up. I might put a phenolic tip shaped to a conical tip like this one and give it a try. You never know, it might help or not. I like that Brandon billiards guy too, he always gives solid advice even though his website is lacking in many products. Obviously his love for the game shows in his videos, good way to promote your store in videos.
