The dots were originally going to be sterling silver. As the cue came together I realized the silver just wouldn't be quite right next to the gold tones in the woods. It dawned on me I should go with gold dots and call it an upgrade for being late on the cue...as usual. It was hard to depict the color of the dots in the pics. In person, the satinwood trim rings match the gold dots very well, as well as the gold colored ink in the logo.

As for the species of bloodwood, African bloodwood has been used in cues before but it isn't very common. It is quite different from the bloodwood most are familiar with that grows in central and south America. The African bloodwood is in the same genus as Amboyna and padauk. It is not called bloodwood because of the color of the lumber, but because of what happens when it is cut. Here is a link to see what I mean.
