It's been very quiet arround here longer then it should I think, it's time for a new aiming system :)

If anyone has something and is willing to share I'm always excited to read and try something new, there wasn't anything that I read and tried that didn't help me in some way so....I'm waiting

Hi all, I've been developing a new aiming system (called V-Aim): it's a simplified Stan's CTE but without the "guessing" of A/B/C and the inside/outside sweeps.

In short: you have to stand up in a "certain position" and from that vision you have to do everytime the same pivot from right to left on zillion shots. You have only to "guess" if the cue ball is at a certain distance from the object one.

I would like to post a video but I cannot speak English very well (I'm from Milan).

As soon as I shot a video I'll describe it.

See you soon.

Tony

Se vidiamo:wink::wink::wink:
Ciao

i know this thread was started not in all seriousness but i wish ekkes would be healthy enough to release samba

I was serious, really, I wanna try a new aiming system, I'm an addict :)

ok here is one
with your cue stick and the tip as close to the object ball without fouling
find the contact point (shot line )on the back of the object ball to make the shot
pull the tip straight back along that line 1 1/4 in (about the length of a normal ferrule)

keep the tip on that spot
pivot the cue stick to the cue ball
extend the line from the cue ball to the tip of the cue to where it crosses the rail beyond the object ball
using the diamonds figure out what number on the rail the line crosses
that is your aim spot
aim at that spot
forget about the object ball /contact point/ghost ball
what do you think??:rolleyes::)

When standing, try lining the cue slightly right of the CB to OB line.. (left of that line if you're a left hand player).

When you're down on the shot, the butt of cue will be slightly farther from your body for a free straight stroke.

Thank you friend, but that is a combo of GB/CP aiming, but to extend to the rail is a good advice :) tnx again!!

Good advice, but not really an aiming system :)

To have more space and a free straight stroke I lean to my right while aligning (I'm a right hander), and go down to my full stance from that starting position, that accomplishes the same thing :)

yes you are correct
but by aiming at a real target you are not trying to shoot a ghost...............:)

Put a 1.25" mark behind your tip on your $300.00 shaft?

If this is OK, then put a few marks outside of 1.25" to compensate for CIT or shoot all shots with a touch of outside (TOO) to neutralize CIT. Who cares about shape just yet...you just want to sink balls

The system proffered is viable and Neslie the Crunch used it. I was just expand ing on it's utility.

Is there a viable new aiming method/system?

Addicted to Aiming Systems

I was serious, really, I wanna try a new aiming system, I'm an addict :)

That is sort of where I was in 2005. I went through different ways to make shots one at a time. I would find one, practice it on all shots, find the ones it didn't work for and then find one that worked for that one and move on when I found something better.

It can get addicting. I have a friend who says he has no depth perception and he cant stop constructing new ways to aim and its hurt his game at times pretty bad. I think you get to a point that you have to find something you are comfortable with and settle in and start working with English.

No depth perception?
Balls look like different size circles?

No parallax caused by two eyes could be a good thing - ultimate vision center?
Overlap/eclipse aiming is achievable then without parallax noise.

I would use stick aiming by putting the stick on the table on the aim line CP2CP.
Then drop down on the cue and lift it vertically or laterally to CCB on the aim line and shoot CCB. Use FHE or BHE to get shape on the next ball.

It's been a slow day so I offer this old illustration of CP2CP aiming:

Be well

Aiming System Minority

According the numbers I have I would say the people who use an Aiming System are in a minority. I think others aren't so concerned.

336 Robin,
With all of the info contained in all of these Aiming Treads, that's all there is to know.

No flame wars to excite the base anymore.
