Another goofy question/crossover kicking

I need a picture. I'm having trouble visualizing what your talking about. Sounds interesting.

Mirror the distance to the other side of the point, use a little running english. Youll still have to play with it to get a feel for it. BTW, those shots are called tickys.

Unless Im misunderstanding..... LOL

There's a kicking system where you place your cue perpendicular to the nearest rail with your tip at the center of the ghost ball of where you want to hit. Then pull your cue back to measure twice the distance from the rail to the center of the ghost ball and it gives you an imaginary point to aim at. It's hard to explain in words but I know a lot of players use it, especially when kicking or trying to make balls going rail-first.

Maybe someone can explain it better or provide a link.

Here's a video of Chris Melling using it to shoot a kick shot in a match (around the 1:20 mark)):

Yes that is a helpful method for shallow angle rail first 'kick's to the adjoining pocket.

But that is not what I'm talking about.

I added pictures that depict acute angle kicks to opposite side, or corner pockets where cb stops dead, or slides down the backside tangent line.

Clearly unclear was my cry for help....re 1pkt crossover back cut kicks from the back side to my 'opposite' corner pocket.

My ex-wife was right....wtf are you saying??...is that a question??:banghead:

edit: note ending position of red dotted cb, displayed as a 'spiky cb', thanks

Okay, now I'm confused..
I get what you are saying, but can't you just adjust the ghost ball to catch the object ball on the thin side to make the cue ball go in the direction you want after contact?

The first examples you show are the ticky shots I was telling you about. The other shots kicking behind a ball to kick it towards your pocket can be aimed in a similar manner. Mirror the distance from the contact point to the nose of the cushion (imagine carrying that line to the nose of the rubber perpendicularly) , then and mirror that distance past the nose of the cushion to find the "aiming point".

Again, youll need to play with speed and spin to get a feel for it, but its a useful shot sometimes.

Chuck, Victor, and Larry

Finally, I see that now thanks to Larry's patient explanation.

I'm pretty dense at times. (My ex already knows that)

Thanks Larry for your time.

take care
