For the first time ever, I'm going to try a new experiment and upload matches backwards. Meaning, I will start with the finals and we will work our way back. I will still create a playlist for this event but the sequence of matches will be reversed.
interesting observations about the turnout of this event and although it was low, to us, it wasn't disappointing at all. Most of our covered matches were all very exciting because the field was filled with high caliber players. Yes, you have the CSI events not providing 9ft table competition, so why go and play a 9ft event. The Hard Times event has traditionally served as the perfect warmup for the Las Vegas event. Yes, the 14.1 event lost us a few players as well but since we already pulled the trigger on the event date we decided to stay the course.
There were a few other areas of resistance to promote on a local level, which basically undermined some of our local attendance, but I'm not going to place blame or site specific people. One example would be the continued insistence that the A/C at Hard Times doesn't work, when in actuality it was working fine.
Low attendance or not, Hard Times is absolutely thrilled to have brought you the 6th Annual event with one pocket also and plans to proceed with the same format are still in effect for next year. We may impose a few changes to benefit the players in order to attract a bigger field.
