There are a lot of tournaments and action matches going to 7' tables now. Would it be a good idea for both companies to either come out with a kit to tighten the tables (pockets), or come out with a line of pro tables that are much harder to pocket balls on? Johnnyt

I was under the impression that you could get pro-cut when you ordered a Diamond 7'

I want to say yes, but at the pro level, I really don't think it will make that much of a difference. On a valley table, just making the pockets smaller won't do much at all. You also have to lengthen the shelf so a ball hit bad won't go so easily.

My valley is modified, rails and shelf, and I don't see where it affects my shot selection at all. So, it just boils down to being able to make the ball. No problem for the pros in that department.

You're probably right. I had 4" pockets (all 6) on my old Valley and it took me awhile to beat the 9-ball ghost with them. I think it had more to do with the 4" side pockets. Johnnyt

It is not about making it harder to pocket balls.

It is more about making the player AIM !!! :yeah:
