I know Billy Burke and I think you might have jumped the gun on the whole beware thing.

Sounds like both parties didnt trust each other much here, which after all the I got screwed over by so and so on AZ nowadays, who can blame either party for getting anxious over the other.

Just wanted to also add in that Billy has been playing in tournaments and action all around florida for a few years now and ive never heard of him screwing anyone. He also has the reputation as someone whose got some gamble and will send it in on a game of pool. Something that alot of people talk about here on AZ but fewer actually do in real life.

Sadly cases like this are the reason I haven't sold anything on azb. This one is pretty light compared to some of the other recent ones

My favorite part of these threads is when guys pop-up to protect their rep.
Like Geovani..., Hey, what did I do? Why is my name mentioned?

This thread is a classic example of what can happen when people start using their big Itrader to get an advantage on a deal.
It also seems to happen when trades are for lower end items, probably because serious deals on high end cues are done differently.

Both Billy & Marky seem OK to deal with, and this will get settled, no negative Itraders, just work it out.

So far I haven't seen anything indicating that I asked you for reference, let alone pick on your single iTrader...let's keep looking at our conversations

I happen to appreciate Marky Marks warning. I would have done the same thing after billy failed to respond. In general, shipping at the same time is a recipe for problems . It can lead to additional return shipping costs if one or both parties aren't satisfied. It can also lead to someone's item being held "hostage" until the other items are returned. I feel if you see item you want then you should be willing to ship your trade offer first. Then the recipient pays to ship their item or pays to return your trade offer quickly. Sure there is still a risk of problems but it would be a practical guideline and a lot less in potential return shipping costs. I happen to be new on AZB and have yet to make my first trade. I would be interested to know if there any totally safe ways to make a trade.

Excellent work detective (((satori)))(((!))) I'm genuinely interested in how he is able to stay under the radar and make a living playing pool.

Yes, use an escrow service!

Msg continued

In the above text message you propose to be paid for the cue and to send it first. You said that upon receipt that you will pay for the case and he will send. It says that clearly and that is the last mention of any terms that I see in your message. You also said you were going to overnight it on Thursday and he should get it on Friday. Based upon that he said he would ship Friday after work. When the cue did not come overnight as you stated it would he didn't ship. I would have done the same thing. Go back and read your own messages before you post them as evidence. you are in the wrong here.

Like I said, I've dealt with Billy before without any issues and I've met him in person out and about at tournaments and he's been good people. Don't think Billy would pull moves on someone for a $200 jump cue, he's not hungry to the point he would out someone of $200 and risk his life and reputation being a player that gets around.. Whatever happened between them both, is their business and I had no parts of their dealings nor was I beneficial of it. He asked for reference and I told him I've dealt with Billy before and he's good people.. I did what I would have done for anyone I've dealt with and had positive transactions with.. This is the main reason why I don't like to vouch for people for this same reason..

Let's get a few things straight here...

1. I did NOT ask you for reference. Billy used your name and said that you can vouch for him therefore he's the one who asked for reference. I simply confirmed the reference he gave me with you.

2. Just because your name is here it does NOT mean that I am implicating you. Have you or did you receive any messages from me asking you to mediate for me? Did I complain to you about his actions? Did I say to you, "hey I thought this guy was legit, etc." The answer is "No!"

3. Instead of you asking me (and him) what happened & ask for proof for my claims you immediately go on here and blast me. If anything you should be scolding him for deviating from our deal WITHOUT informing me because he used you as reference which affects your rep in some manner whether you like or not.

Marky mark... get over yourself bud. All this fuss over something so petty. Well just go our seperate ways and that's it. And FYI I do have a good rep and intend to keep it that way as a matter of fact I just brokered a deal on a complete cue pkg for 2100 and had the buyer directly deposit the money in my bank account so I didn't have to wait for the cash to pay the original seller. And please believe the buyer will receive his cue pkg as promised. I've sold and traded 10k plus worth of pool related items on az and obm. I know what I'm about and how to handle business. I am sorry we had to go through all this bs but it is what it is. It's over now. Good luck to you and thr rest of your deals here on az mark. Also sorry again to geovani, he was just doing me a favor because he trusted me as he should and he had to have his name and rep called into question which I think we all know is crazy.

It would have been nice if you would have replied to my pm on here or my text message. You texted me for reference and I replied right away, I shouldn't have replied and ignore your text when you asked for reference. But I was nice enough to pull off the road as I drive for work, then replied to your message via text the same way you messaged me.. But you and Billy had some issues and I get to come on Az and saw my name in a beware post!! Smh

also I Pm'ed you yesterday morning right as I saw the post, and I texted you right after and I got no reply. I just texted you again also..

Nice guys finish last!! That's what I get for trying to help you both.. Never again....

Once again, the notion "trust but verify" is just another way of saying "mutual mistrust".

Billy, you owe Mark an apology for not performing on your agreement (because he did and you didn't) and not contacting him to explain your true intentions. You ought to pay him at least half his shipping cost, shake hands and be friends. That's fair. What say you?
