What's the pool world going to be like in 50 years?

I know it's a lot to ask, but lets keep the sarcasm to a minimum here. I'm genuinely interested in what you all think on this subject. Especially those of you who have been a part of the pool world for the last 50 years.

Thoughts?

Straight tables and cues, round balls.
That's all we need.
Hope it stays like that.

I will already have been dead for a few decades so I don't really care.

Oh, that's easy.

In 2065, the winner of the of the US Open is the oldest person ever to do it. ChicagoRJ, who at 103, pushed through a tough field of Efren IV, Johnny Archer III, and Earl Strickland's nephew, Little Early Strickland.

ChicagoRJ credits his win to the newest version of Magic Chalk, now made on Mars using the very best moon dust

Older. Lots of old people playing.

But there's so few young people playing today... Every tournament and league around is just old guys. At least most of them aren't as sarcastic and useless as some of the ones to reply here though.

I wonder when I'm in that generation of old guys at the pool hall will there be any young guys like me trying to learn the game? And how few of us old guys is there even gonna be considering how few young guys there are in the pool halls now.

In the 27th edition of their ongoing rivalry, Efren will beat Earl 11-9 in a 10-ball match that takes five days.

That is what I am thinking. It will mostly be people 100 to 125.

50 years from now, Greece will be an economic powerhouse.
....left the EU in '28.

A resurgence of pool worldwide will happen due to the release of a new movie....
.....The Color of Drachmas....

There will no longer be pool halls as we know them, nor will there be sports bars and grills like those currently popular today.
What takes their place will be large multi-venue recreational complexes that will be owned by the Chinese, and administered to by the General Administration of Sports of China, under the watchful eye of the PLA (Peoples Liberation Army).
Such is life. Change, or be changed.

well, RJ you also won the US open in 2060 and 2063, so that's 3 titles in 5 years, not too shabby.

This is why I am helping a younger player along in my league team. This young one really wants to learn and play better. They need to get over their "Id" issue first however. IF we ever get past that, there is a lot they can learn. I hope it happens.

My thoughts are everything sort goes in cycles and pool will come back one day when we have gone so digital that we barely leave our houses.

Then the kids will be dying to get outside at least to a room full of other kids. It will be dynamic, innovative and interactive and the cool kid will be the one who can run the table like a Magician and he will be the one with the pretty girl.
