U.S. Open 9-ball Updates

It's a race to 11, lol. It's still a big upset but not anything ridiculous. You guys still can't seem to comprehend the variance in short race, tournament pool. Maybe since it's happening to one of the foreign players that all of the morons jump on when trying to downplay Shane's dominance it might actually sink in.

I will agree with short race.

There are two factors here with winner breaks format, and now Ko is "over seas"

what's would be the forum be saying if Shane lost to Karen by an 11-4 score in the US Open. This match alone deserves its own thread.

Are yall sure you have the score right on the KO Karen match? The announcers on the live stream said KO was up 9-4 at one point

Marty Herman said last night in a ustream chat, "Korr would beat Ko easily."
Damn did he ever call that one. Nice call Mr. Herman.

Just thinking how nice it would have been to have the same streaming options that they have at the World 9 Ball. Being able to choose which table to watch was awesome. I am sure it's harder than it sounds, but we at least know it's possible..

What some people can't get thru thier thick head is players have bad days and when in that moment it's rare that it ever changes ,, when a pitcher is getting rocked he continues to get rocked ,, when a golfer is having a bad round it's a bad round , when a goalie can't stop the puck , he can't stop the puck ,,
When pool player can't break and can't throw the ball in the ocean it's rare they turn it around ,,that race could have went much longer and Karen still would have won

Just curious why nobody thinks Karen can play? Have any of you ever watched her play?
How many of you would jump in the ring with her? I know i wouldn't want to.

Sometimes the people here amaze me:rolleyes:

Anyone have a link to a timetable? It would be nice to know when the different matches will be played.

And way to go Karen!!!!

That's cool and all, but how is Sam Lambert doing in his 1st round match? I heard he drew Rhea.

Has anyone said she couldn't play?

I have watched Karen numerous times on the Joss tour and at Turning Stone. She is rock solid and a real talent.

But when a player with 500/1 odds beats the top 5/1 odds world champion - that is a real upset on a global scale in a major tournament. Shock and awe is in order at this point.

Corvette said it all.

Not shocking at all

Yes, the Shane loss to yu-ram cha was bad - but he wasn't coming of wins as world champion 10-ball and 9-ball in same year. Karen is a great player, but first round of US open for Ko as world 9-ball champ - this is a worse loss in my opinion (by a greater margin so far too)

Karen up 10-4 now.

LOL, thank God that is your opinion, And you know what they say about opinions.
I get it, Ko is not allowed to anyone even though it is not a world championship match and much less to a woman. He must win every match :D

Touche. It is all sexist -they are basically saying that pro men players are not allowed to lose to pro women players. Even though top players have lost to women in past- Ronnie O lost to Pan Xiao Ting in 9 ball, Shane lost to Yu Ram Cha
In these days and times such primitive thinking is shocking. Go go Hillary ;)

you should never be allowed to post again. If you honestly think that she could beat him in a race to 50 or 100 or a best of 5 sets races to 11 then you are obviously retarded and shouldn't be allowed around sharp objects or keyboards. If she did beat him in a longer race format then it WOULD be one of the greatest upsets of all time. As it is, she is a great player that beat a much better player in one race to 11.

Shane's odds to win just went up a ton.

IMO, Shane's odds would only increase a little. I am a big fan of SVB (and still undefeated against him), but at the 2014 US Open, he had two double hill matches.

There are a lot of players in the tournament who could give anyone else a run for the win in a match.
