Agree with Rodney
It should be referee rack
Take out small amount from prize money to pay referees or get volunteer rackets for goodness sake

Are you dreaming? Talking about money, they have only one measle CB for the whole tournament - the one on the TV table, other tables play with Red Dot CB :boring2:.

I used to participate in autocrossing and shooting matches. When we were not up shooting, or on the track we had to pull targets and work the cones.

For pool tournaments why can't players act as referees and rack for others between matches?

All Rodney does is complain. Every year, same shit. He complains about you name it. He said he retired. Then he said he was starting his own tour. He's a crybaby.

It's not like he is wrong though.
You know as well as anyone that some pool players will tilt and squeeze to make breaking easier if they can get away with it.
Just watch. Instead of all these dry breaks, you'll have a couple guys miraculously making a million balls on the break once they figure out how to manipulate it.

Most players and fans have been saying refs should do the racking for at least 20 years in the U.S. Rack your own is one of the biggest jokes in tournament pool. Rack mechanics were never suppose to be part of the game. I blame the promoters for being too greedy and the players for not pushing it. Johnnyt

Here's an idea I haven't seen before. It comes with some drawbacks of course but here it is:

1) What if TDs established a racking pattern that was enforced and had it change every hour or round? I think round would be best in that case.

Players are pattern racking anyway in their favor, why not force them to pattern rack in a way that puts them on even ground? I'm sure a pattern can be established that does not lead to early 9-ball combinations.

Sure, the table layouts may end up the same from time to time but aren't we already seeing that in 9-ball? I can think of quite a lot of 9-ball matches where the breaks from both players resulted in very similar table layouts.

Just my two cents.

Maybe. But everyone and their mother knew this was the rack 4 months in advance. Renfro even shipped it to a ton of people so they could practice. Rodney should have practiced with it. He's always been "But I didn't know" with respect to Griffin, and other events I forgot now. Take responsibility, instead of calling everyone a cheater. That's my opinion.

So you are suggesting he cheats. Right?
LOL

Easiest way to stop tilting is draw a line around the template like they do in 14.1 so they know where the rack goes.
It's not like the balls won't freeze up. ITS A TEMPLATE.
End of problem.

Not rocket science on that one.

Freezing the balls together, that's a different story but easily resolved with a quick inspection.

LOL. Yes, I suggest he cheats. Make the rack 45 degrees crooked. Spit on all the balls. Spit in his opponent's chalk. LOL.

2015 World 9-ball Pool Championship was rack your own too and they had refs for each table.

Your right!

So many weaklings! If your break aint working, Pay SVB or KO or Busty to teach you how its done. If everybody is a racking expert, then become one too.

Stop cry'n!

superstar, Favoritism, is exactly what would happen, to help eliminate certain players.

Ludicrous. The WPC and US open has become a free haven for rack mechanics. It's like the Poker tournaments allowed people to deal from the bottom of the deck etc...It's bad for the game, imo. Rodney may be a whiner, but he's right on this one. Not that anyone cares about right or wrong anymore, only winners and losers.

was it rack your own when Rodney won?
Is it only the pattern racking people that are in the final 8 every year?

cheating is one thing but lets be careful what we call cheating. If your morals won't allow you to do something that is available to you "as a skill" then deal with it or don't take part.

But the refs didn't do the racking. They were more like the Qatar (statue refs). Johnnyt

Those Qatar refs didn't do a very good job of being statues either, they were constantly yawning and scratching themselves.
