I should win something, even if it's basically useless, like a set of Bonus Ball balls, or a case of burgundy Silver Cup chalk.:rolleyes:
 
Even when shooting with medium speed or even softly, I tend to scratch anyway. What tricks do you guys have for preventing this on a friction-less pool table?

Place the cb on the head spot. Ob on the foot spot. Hit cb dead center into ob. You will never scratch. :wink:
 
When I think I am close to a scratch I start by checking the tangent line, then I decide if stun, follow, or draw will get me out of the scratch. That is just to cinch the shot, if I need to play position then you need to consider that too.

I do this too. You also have to understand that the English applied will not take until the ball stops spinning when hit med to hard. When avoiding a scratch along the 30 or 90 degree tangent speed trumps English.
