1/2 to a Ball Better After Watching MIH

It helps me a lot to watch the top pros play. With me I pick up little things from watching them play shape. I notice how they might go an extra rail or play a different angle, or draw the ball to a rail instead of following it, or leave themselves a little closer than I would. It's like a light comes on and I say 'oh yeah" and find myself doing the same next time I play.

Those extra rails shots for shape are awesome shots to emulate.

I find the same thing, after watching the Derby I am pretty tired up and shooting better.

Johnny do you think your bump was from watching Earl? :)
Him, Shaw, Shane ad Guys like Mika. I got the joke though :),, Johnnyt

I think it's subjective and depends on the person and their skill level. As others have mentioned it could be more of the feeling it give you more than anything else, kind of like the new stick syndrome.
Watching others play such as pros could have a negative effect on that persons game because they are trying to do things that is beyond their level or play shots and patterns that conducive with their style of play, not because X plays this shot like that means that this may be the way to play it for you, picking up another players stroke or habits.

Players need to find their own PSR, Speed (rate of play), Stroke style etc.

I do also enjoy watching better players play and get motivated to "hit the table" but it's for me to reach that level/quality of play, that's why i like watching european or aisian player more.

I also feel that watching the top players gives my game a big boost. Maybe not a whole ball, though. That would mean I was playing twice as good. Is there such a thing as 1/4 ball better?

I don't know if this happens to anyone else. Seems like every time I watch just the top players on the stream, my game goes up a 1/2 ball to a ball for a few days after it. This time it was the "Make it happen tournament. Even my stroke feels better. I don't know if it just pumps me up to want to shoot better. Johnnyt

With me its Kevin Cheng.

Especially in rotation games where it is often advantageous to go three rails instead of one in order to be coming into the next shot along the line of position rather than across it.

Yes, you're exactly right, it's the rotation games where the multiple rails comes into play most.
