For the past few days I have not been able to open the Diamond billiards website. Has it really been down for the past few days? Anyone know when it will be available again. Does anyone have a contact email for them I could get pricing through possibly for tournament used if not new table?

While your at it, ask them what's the deal with Dymondwood. They've been saying we will have samples at the end of the month for going on a year now. The Pro/am page the last time I looked recently still was all about Dymondwood.

The boys who set up my table last month told me the current estimate for Dymondwood samples is now around June...

The diamond site has been down more so than other sites throughout the years. Half the time I try it, it does not work. I'm guessing most of their sales are from players, who already know what they want, and do most of the ordering from the phone.

June now, eh. Why does that not surprise me. Thanks.

They're not reinventing the wheel here. Rutland Plywood had Dymondwood production down to a science, and I doubt the recipe was also burned in the fire. There must have been drawings of the forms for the pool tables from which they could reproduce in a reasonable amount of time.

Does this mean the gun maker in Indiana that now has the Dymondwood production is the problem?

Have to give my architect specifics for wood choice before June, and that is most likely a fantasy.

Georgie is getting upset here!

You'd have to be nuts to wait for dymondwood in order to make choices with your home :grin-square::grin-square:

Guilty as charged :o

Bottom line is there will be a bar that is built along one long side of the table, and I would like it to match well with the pool table. Much of the other wood trim in the room will also be coordinated.

Yes, obsessive compulsive. Spending $100,000 for an addition will do that to you.

How about going with a contrasting wood color for the bar?

So if you go with a dark table, whether real wood or Dymondwood, pick a light color for the bar. And vice versa.

For home use, the solid wood is probable a great choice also, and the color/grain choices are much broader.

Dymondwood not available to suit your project's timeline? Terrible news. Thank Gawd for cocobolo:

Thanks for the photo jalapus logan.

That is a beautiful table; the cocobolo color and tournament blue cloth is a winner.

That being said...is the table dent and scratch resistant? If the cue ball does a swan dive on to the top of one of the rails, will it leave a mark? What about when Shorty with the big belt buckle has to reach for a shot?

Thanks for the response. I am a big fan of Diamond Billiards Products and for what they have done to promote pool.

Just not a fan of how they have handled the Dymondwood supply issue with its potential customers.

Yeah it was up then back down I think they need to invest in some web development staff there or something. Almost all commercial web hosting companies will guarantee 99.9% up time. I did however get a message to them and now it is a waiting game to find out how long it will take for them to respond.
