But there comes a point where business incompetence is no longer a justification for acts that, in any other context, would be recognized as fraudulent. And it sounds like that point is in the rearview mirror.

i've NEVER known or heard of him engaging in theft or fraud at any level. As a rule he is NOT reliable in delivering as scheduled, if that's a deal breaker potential customers are best served by moving on. i'll reiterate that i think the OP will receive his cue, and the work will be flawless, SOON.
 
10 to 12 years waiting for a cue wow unbelievable as for my opinion no way I don't care who the builder is.

If you promise something in weeks or months and it still hasn't been delivered in years that is fraud.

How are you guys able to wait 10 years for a cue. I'm pushing myself if I wait for more than a month. But then again, I'm not buying custom cues.
 
it becomes fraud or theft when the customer demands his property back and the cue maker refuses to return it.

and i have no sympathy for any customer that knows a cue maker doesnt ever finish his work and still sends the goods to him.

it is the ones that are mislead with lies or no information that deserve better.
 
the cue makers inability to historically deliver as scheduled has been well documented and is available for anyone to research

i havn't read this thread, if the OP requested the return of his cue non-compliance on the makers part is intolerable in view his tardiness

Documenting the fact that the cuemaker is a liar does not lessen his culpability.

You seem to be arguing for some theory of collateral estoppel in which the cuemaker's pattern of lying, failing to deliver on time, failing to communicate, justifies his continuing to engage in such unprofessional and borderline illegal activities.

Before I sent the cue to Dennis, I contacted him(April 22nd 2014) and ask for price quote for refinish and new shafts. He responded right away and quoted me the price and told me it will be done and shipped back to me within 2-3weeks once he received the cue. So I shipped the cue on 26th April 2014 and paid $1075 via bank wire transfer to his account too.

He received the cue on the 1st of May. And he sent me an email on May 14th saying he received the cue and will send me pics of the choice of wraps once the cue is refinished.

From that on, he never responded. I sent him an email around July to asked for cue progress, I got no replies from him. I sent another this year on January, still never heard from him yet.

Does anyone know what happened to him? Or can any of his friends here help me get hold of him please, cause I tried texting, emailing, nothing works.

Get a hold of the wellington florida police dept,maybe they can help and should. Rich aka the skunk.
 
the longer you wait the less chance you ever see your cue again. you say he has sent texts but he said it was done a year ago. you are your own worst enemy as he now knows you are a pussy and doesnt have to give you anything back.

he may do it just because he is getting his business ruined by his actions. i hope so for your sake

but a simple statement of i want my cue back in one week or i file charges with your local police dept. for theft and to the feds for mail fraud. and if he doesnt he is a fool as the feds will make him miserable, as well as cost him anything he has to pay for lawyers.

If I'm located state wise I wouldve done it a year ago. But im overseas and he's willing to make it right and since so many ppl vouch for him here, I'll give him one last chance or I'll file charges towards him for theft.

You told me on Jan 27th he will get my cues out asap cause its near done.

Feb 13th I contacted him again he told me my cue will be definitely going out next week and it looks great.

Feb 17th I asked him again if the cues are going out this week. He told me he will ship it soon and he wants my address. And worst case the cue will be going out on the 22nd.

Until now I still get no updates of whether my cue is done or whatsoever. I think he's giving excuses again. :(
 
I have never known him to keep his word,but some people
like to put up with him


let's hope you get your cue back and others are spared the misery of dealing with him
 
When I was 20, I picked one maker to build me a cue. I chose Dennis (still a somewhat obscure maker at the time) over Hercek and Southwest. I was quoted a 2 year wait. It's been close to 13 years now, and I haven't heard a peep. I will never get another chance at a Hercek build, and I have years to go on a Southwest with limited options. Thanks, Dennis.
 
Another maker of amazing talent & inability to ever do what he says, unless you have a bushel basket of $ to spend & then you're still going to get put through the ringer.

Amazing talent? I am beginning to highly suspect the better descriptive term would be
"overrated".

When such a thing happens people tend to have a hard time believing it and most often reject it out of hand.

I don't think he's overrated....I've hit with some and they are magic.
...but the only way I'll ever own a Searing is to buy after-market.

YOU know that this is just a "dig" at Dennis due to your "analysis" of whats transpired in this thread and others. The fact is if you are going to say "amazing talent" in front of ANY cue makers name, Dennis would be one that truly qualifies... For those that may "reject" it or even think he's "overrated", well that's just ignorance, jealousy, or personal feeling and has nothing to due with fact.....

Timothy, I hope you get you cue back SOON!!... I think you will
