Waiting for this beauty to be delivered. Seller said it was made in Colorado. Looks like curly maple re-cut with tulipwood into ebony, curly handle and inlaid butt sleeve with alternating woods to match points.

I'm stumped.

The scary thing is the points look like a Prulhiere.

I know. I'm no help. :embarrassed2:

Maybe somebody else knows.

Oh, good God Chopdoc... That's harsh man! Lol, I don't think I ever saw that guy do re-cuts or overlapping points.

It does vaguely remind me of a Cousins cue with the buttsleeve.

Snowmon, I'll post better pics of the pin when it arrives. Looks like a 3/8x10 to me though.

Look for a diamond, and a small "s" in the diamond on the end of the pin..

Sorry man, bad joke.

Obviously this is a real pool cue and not a.....um....yeah...one of those.....

Lol, I certainly hope it's a real cue.

I was thinking Showcase or Ernie Martinez as well. Maybe even Kikel. All Colorado based makers. Will check the pin though as you mentioned. Thanks for the tip!

Ned Morris came to mind although I've never seen anything of his that looked like this. I'm pretty sure he's based out of Colorado though.

Ned's in desert area of Southern California. Between LA and San Diego.

Me also..
The recuts were the 1st clue..

Rumor has it..
There were some cues built out of the Martinez shop using Martinez components, but the cues were not built by Ernie..
Do you mean someone from showcase? Or someone else?

Ernie had a shop after showcase...
I dont want to go into details, of what I was told.. I spent 6 years in Denver and had heard from a few people that a few cues made it out of the Martinez shop and Ernie wasnt the builder..

Ive also been offered to buy a few cues that look like Ernies, but didnt have any markings..

Please keep in mind this supposively happened years ago...

If the cue has a 3/8-16 pin with a diamond on top, then it is a Showcase made by Ernie Martinez, '94 or older
If the pin is a 3/8-12, then it's an Ernie Martinez made after '95, and a brass pin would indicate a newer cue, '06-current.

I'll post the pin details as soon as it arrives. Thanks for the details. I'm impressed this some of EM's cues. His Escher inspired cues were pretty freaking awesome.

The Ted has spoken.
It's settled by the preeminent expert on Ernie's cues. And that's no joke.
I thought it had that Martinez look,I've seen a bunch of them here in Denver but I'm no expert.
And every one that I have played with played pretty much the same. Jam up and jelly tight.
Very consistent cue builder.

The previous owner of this cue contacted me on here say that the maker was from Georgia, and that he could not remember his name... The plot thickens.
