I can't believe they are stupid enough to post this contract online.

So I did some research and found the law firm that wrote up that contract:

At first glance, it is surprising that team French posts a private contract in a public forum. which in itself most likely is not legal. But at the second look, it leads me to the assumption that team French wants to show "us" Denis' contract obligations and thus not fulfilling them. I believe that when French asked Denis for his share of Denis' winnings from the past few weeks, Denis suddenly realized what the contract really means in his daily life and tries to withdraw from it. So team French tries not to look bad by putting the blame on Denis.

Technically, this works! But not from a moral/ethical viewpoint...

Swiss cheese contract.

I don't think Dennis even reads English. He should have a pretty easy time of getting out of this. If I would have known about this contract I would have called him immediately to tell him, "NooooOOOO".

If Dennis was shrimping/fisherman in the Philippines at the age of 10, I seriously doubt he's capable of reading.

I'm no Orcullo fan, but...This contract is the worst piece of crap I have ever seen! The only reason why anyone would sign such a piece of paper would be having an actual, physical gun to their head or not being able to understand it. If you don't know what the contract says, don't sign it! If you are signing up for 10 years of anything, get a lawyer to look at it. Even the worst lawyer in the world could have saved Dennis here.

You are right of course but remember the situation here. Dennis has a guy being nice to him and selling him the dream. He is told "Sign this paper for the stream/dvd/whatever payments" He does because he's a pool player from the PI not a lawyer.

Dennis would sign a contract giving away his liver if he trusted the guy putting it in front of him. He can't read and understand English at a level to process what that silly ass contract said. Of course no one should ever sign anything without understanding it 100% but this is like telling a little kid to sign a contract for free candy. Why wouldn't he sign it?

Edit: By the way the only thing that contract is good for is rolling up and inserting into the ass of the guy who wrote it. No way that shit goes anywhere legally and even if it did what are they gonna do garnish his bank account that he doesnt have?

This is the deal with Dennis. He did not honor this contract so how do I trust was I suppose to trust him in Beloit if he didn't follow through at DCC. Would you put money up behind someone knowing you will never see a dime.

The details of this contract are shocking and nonsensical. This is an unfair contract all in your favor
All in your favor- you get 50% of all his earnings but you do not contribute anything and Dennis gets no benefits in return.

While he may have signed this contract, but a review of this contract by legal professionals and comparing against standard agent-player contracts will show this is an unfair contract and should be nullified.

I am not surprised that Dennis bailed out of this contract.
By posting this contract, you show your true colors. Many gave you benefit of doubt but this contract shows that you are just a predatory greedy guy preying on players. In particular on international players cos an American player would get this reviewed by his lawyer and would never sign this contract

WHAT?

50% of his earnings in return for WHAT?

This contract, perhaps well intentioned, is extremely one-sided and provides no explanation of what services will be provided for a 50% cut of the player's earnings.

Without having read anything further I am going to assume Dennis made a score at DCC and didn't cough up 50% of his end? Is that what happened?

Darren said he didn't sign crap. I seriously doubt Jayson Shaw would've signed that nonsense contract.

I hope the the Ko brothers didnt fall for the same trap.

Paragraph 'D' tries to imply that JF would seek out sponsors etc but it just really says he is allowed to do that but under no obligation TO do it. I am not a lawyer.
